The Weird, The Wild, The Unknown! Scaryboooo!

Calgary | Ghosts | Morning after pill

I owe this blog idea to none other than 2CatDave (GREAT GUY!!) Thank you buddy:)

Many years ago I lived in a small town called Coxsackie, in upstate NY. When I say this town was small, I mean tiny! The only reason it is known at all is because it has a prison and a disease named after it! :(

It was not my choice to live there, but my parents thought it was an "out of the way enough" place for my father to write his many books.

Anyhoo it had it's charms, but the house was haunted! I KNOW you all think "Sassys has finally lost her mind" but I am dead serious when I say this place was creepy as hell...right down the hill from a cemetary no less.

One night my boyfriend and a friend decided to have a seance because we were bored...now first off this old house sat on the side of a big forest and very steep hill down to the Hudson river, it was the middle of December and snow was literally thigh high. My father put up heavy duty plastic on all the windows to keep the cold out and the heat in. Plus we had heavy curtains made of real suede.

So we sat at the kitchen table and proceeded to "call a ghost" Saying things like "If you are here show us a sign" Blablabla...About ten minutes into it a gust of wind blows the curtains into the middle of the room! Now there was NO WAY anyone would be suicidal enough to stand outside to pull that off. Then the coocoo clock chimed 12 times with the little bird sticking it's head out...now when that happened I literally screamed! My friends looked at me like "Wha? Que? Huh?" and I told them the truth...that clock had not worked in over ten years!

At this point I refused to "play" any more...it was enough for me to know that if ghosts don't exist then aliens do!

Do you believe in ghosts? I sure do!

Well Miss Sassys,...

first, no, I don't believe in ghosts. Of course, I say that while also hating to go into my basement because, well, it's just weirdly creepy. Second, I didn't know you lived in Coxsackie; I've been there, as it's near Albany, where my wife is from. Small world!

Really Catfish?

Sassys
I don't know what to respond to first...the fact that you don't believe in ghosts or the fact that you've been to Coxsackie!
When were you there? I ask because it's been many, many years since I have been there...I wonder if they still have "downtown?" LOL.
You don't believe in ghosts? How about spirits? Lost souls? DUDE!!!

Catfish's picture

Can't tell you the last time, Sassys,...

I was in Coxsackie, but it was when we were also going to Jamaica; I'm really not sure when it was, but it was within the last 6 years or so.

As for ghosts, no, I don't believe in them or spirits or any of that other stuff. That doesn't mean I'd go into a haunted house and stay overnight, because it wouldn't be home, and if it's old and decrepit, that would mean that other stuff could be walking around in the house; no thank you. lol

Services and Stuff, a web portal of quality services and products

Catfish you are a big fat BABY!!!

Sassys
You don't believe in ghosts but you wont stay in an old decrepit building because of other creatures? YEAH SUUUUURE!

Catfish's picture

I don't do bugs, Sassys,...

or rats. And by rats, I don't mean those little ones that one sees in a lab. I've seen some monsters in my life; I don't want to see them again. And bugs are my biggest phobia. So, there's no way. That's the thing about horror movies; people don't listen to their inner selves, and they get themselves killed. Not me!

Services and Stuff, a web portal of quality services and products

LOL Catfish!

Sassys
What I don't get is the "woman wearing high heels, goes into dark spooky forest, to locate a lost puppy" I swear I sit there and scream at the screen "RUN YOU MORON RUUUUUN" It's like picking up a chainsaw weilding hitchhiker...DUH!! I love Eddie Murphys take on the movie Poltergeist....he's like "The kid is in the TV set...we can have more kids, you can keep her" I laughed so hard at that I almost pissed my pants!

Catfish's picture

That's funny, Sassys,...

I think most of these movies, at least the campy ones, are really ridiculous. The others, I just refuse to watch. I think it gives other sickos ideas I'd rather them not get.

Services and Stuff, a web portal of quality services and products

Nah, Catfish, sickos will get weird ideas no matter

Sassys
what we say or do. If someone is sick enough there is nothing we can dream up that hasn't already been actually done! Take Dahmer as a prime example...he didn't get his "idea" by watching horror movies...he was too busy chopping people up and eating them to spend any quality time in front of the TV.

Catfish's picture

That's true about Dahmer,...

but there are other people who see things on TV and decide to go out and try them. You're right, though, some folks really are just plain creepy and nuts.

How many stories does it take to make a reality?

I don't know if there are ghosts or not because I have never had that kind of spiritual experience. I keep away from anything that is supposed to be darkside. However, there are lots of stories about them, so many I think there has to be something that we can call ghosts, whatever they are. I'll put a little story on my Soulcast blog that was told me in my birthplace. It's a sad little ghost story.

Thanks for telling us your story.

If the value of each human being is equal to the value of the one you love why would you ever participate in killing by war or any other activity with deadly intent. http://bloggerparty.com/blog/xingtiao (general but centred on China) http://www.soulcast

Was this quote,...

"If the value of each human being is equal to the value of the one you love why would you ever participate in killing by war or any other activity with deadly intent", meant for the ghost conversation, or just something you always have at the end of your posts? I thought I'd ask before I decided to comment on it.

Services and Stuff, a web portal of quality services and products

Xingtiao I would love to read that!

Sassys
I like scaryboo stuff! Ghosts are scary, but I don't believe they are here to harm us...scare the living daylights out of us maybe:(

xingtiao's picture

It's a signature

I thought I'd get into the signature thing because everything I get from my kids has a weird quote from somewhere or a reflection of how their life is at the moment. When I thought about it I remembered a thought that came to me when the invasion of Iraq was beginning and I realized that if I wanted to say anything to the world that was it. The value of any human being is the same as the value of the one you love the most. My signature is a variation on it Catfish. Thanks for asking. (The link thing is something I haven't worked out yet. I suppose there must be a word limit. I'll try to fix it up now.)

Wooooooo, Sassys!

Yes, I believe in ghosts and I simply do not talk about them. I believe ghosts are negative souls who have refused, for whatever reason, to leave this earth plane. They aren't always evil but they are often not very smart. That alone makes them scary. I don't want to draw any kind of negative energy to me, so I just don't talk about them - cause Ahm a-skeerd!!!

Negative souls PW?

Sassys
Hmmm, I believe in "lost souls"...not so much "disturbed souls". Although I would be willing to bet that Jeffrey Dahmers soul is a tad skewed. ACK!

Pussy Willow's picture

Naw, I don't believe in "lost souls."

I believe that there are spirits waiting to help newly released spirits - souls when they leave the earth plane. The "lost" ones don't have to be lost, they choose to be "lost."

Thanks for the "Plug" Sassys

just checking in and I don't know about 'ghosts' for certain but many people I know who would never under any circumstance tell a lie do, and have told me some mighty darned weird things they have witnessed.

I still say just because 'you' or 'we' personally haven't seen them doesn't mean they don't exist...though my belief is that there is a portal of some kind that allows travel between this world and the next and or beyond dimensions...strange I know but that's the way I see it for now. Of course that subject like many 2cat~things are likely to change, absolutely nothing in my view point is always as 'rock solid' or exactly as we imagine them to be, because "Reality is a relative and individual term" I think.

(Egads I really do need a Shrink)and only the best pro~bono shrinker's of De-cat's~head need apply. Somebody pinch me please and wake me up...I may be living a really bad dream...one that the whole world is sharing at this exact moment in time.

Great read Sassys. "Seances"(boo--ogie man stuff)and to actually call up a ghost now that scares the living___ outa~ 2catdave.

Later De~Sassys and me~Buddy.

Well for me 2Cat what doesn't make sense is

Sassys
when people don't believe in anything other than what they can see with their own eyes...I believe this universe holds so much more than that! Plus why should we be the only living (or dead)thing out there? It makes more sense to believe in the unbelievable, than not.

True Sassys

the universe holds far more than we now know, and the earth is no longer flat(we see that now), gravity does work(a force not seen), men/women can fly(not independently true), but we in general, don't know ever thing there is yet...and may never, so why can't people just admit it? I am willing... to believe in the possible not the im-possible chance of anything. Later Sassys LOL!

2cat~head scratch-er and infinite universe explorer(I'm almost ready "Scotty").

Well move over 2Cat I booked a ride with "Scotty"

Sassys
Loooong ago:)

Hey Sassys

maybe we will be on the same "beam up"...that would be great. If I get the "Scotty" call first (I always thought he would make a really cool looking angel).

I'll definitely try to save you a window seat my friend.:D ~LOL!

Scotty and I are going to be "manning the helm" 2Cat

Sassys
Or "womanning?" Either way we shall get to Nirvana you and I together...and IF Catfish is real nice he can come too! PW is already there awaiting our arrival!

Catfish's picture

Doesn't work for me, Sassys,...

and let's think about this, if it were the case across the board then it basically says we should all believe in some sort of religion because of the possibility that someone's right. And, as we know, I don't believe in any of it. I think there has to at least be some reasonable thought of possibility that has to take place before believing in something.

Services and Stuff, a web portal of quality services and products

Well most people do believe in something

Sassys
other than just mankind Catfish. I do believe in God, but not because I'm "hedging" my bets...but for the simple reason that it makes sense to me. Ask any scientist and they will go on and on (almost like a bible thumper, ironically)about atoms etc and the big bang theory...my response is "well what made that?" See it matters not that we got here by Ape or by Bangs...because how did the Bang become the Bang? It's infinitismal!

Catfish's picture

I guess my overall thing is,...

that there are some answers we're never going to have. Some people have their definitive answer, and it's God; I can't roll that way because God can't be proven either. But the Big Bang only describes what happened, not where it came from, and the science backs it all up. But there's really no comparison between science and religion.

Personally, I believe in people overall, but I also believe in the Laws of Attraction, mainly because I believe that if people are positive in their lives then their lives will be positive, and if people are negative then they manifest that. I choose to try to be as positive as I can, and it seems to work wonders for me.

Services and Stuff, a web portal of quality services and products

I'm not trying to argue

theology here catfish(not my strong suit at all), but it seems from reading the 'positive' / 'negative' way you say you live your daily life, that to me suggests within itself to be a sort of "karma" like belief, (laws of attraction)...(good karma/bad karma) or maybe I'm mistaken, or maybe it's just none of my 2cat business, either way best to ya' catfish~(my positive 2cat vibes sent your way).

Please pardon(or overlook) me Sassys for a "butting in here".

2Cat LMAOOO you have my permission to "butt in"

Sassys
It's a blog kind of thing to do:)

Yes indeed Catfish

Sassys
I also believe in "you get back what you put out". This however is a theory that can at times backfire, many examples exist. Mother Theresa was pure goodness, and yet the plight she fought so valiently for still exists. I too am somewhat positive, but I am still broke and I still have other issues! It's a win for me personally because the alternative is to be perpetually unhappy and that would suck.

Scaryboo love

Hi 2cats,

You're fine. We really have to understand it is all a matter of 'my reality' 'your reality'. It's the only way to have any idea why some people do such terrible things in this world. At least in the realm of human psychology we all do what we think is right and/or necessary. Now that is really scary. We don't need to go looking for ghosts to find scary stuff in this world. Just watch the news or start noticing the number of women on the street with bruises on their face. I reckon the only real guideline is love. But we had better reality check that love is not something that hurts another. There are many crazies that use 'love' as an excuse to harm someone.
Now that is scaryboo!

If the value of each human being is equal to the value of the one you love why would you ever participate in killing by war or any other activity with deadly intent.

Love should not

be a scarey thing xingtiao, I agree. (interesting choice of names there), and thanks for the vote of 'sanity'. "I'm ok you're ok"??

I also agree there are alot of 'real' issues that plague human kind everywhere. To me abuse in any of it's many ugly forms, although sometimes hidden "in the name of love", is not true love at all, rather it is a form of control and ultimately self serving in nature.

Indeed the "value of each human being", is very sadly not shared equally by all people.

I do not go looking for ghost's or ghost stories, or choose the darker side, however when found, my natural curiousity sometimes will take charge..."where there is darkness...let light also abound ", for how else shall we measure these for what they really are.

The very best to you xingtiao. 2catdave

I get what you are saying Xingtiao

Sassys
To me love is all encompassing...there is no such thing as "loving someone too much". There is however a fine line between love and hate and people do use that as an excuse. When someone says that they "killed her/him because I love them soooo much" usually what they are really after has nothing to do with love and it's all about control. That's far scarier then any ghost story out there for sure!

Another ghost story

Hi Sassys,

I just found this blog by an Indian guy about a ghost. It's worth reading.
