TERRORIST, n. Body part connected to the Fist of Death; sometimes ornamented with a spiked bracelet. In politics, a depraved criminal, or a heroic martyr, depending on whose side you're on, or which side has written the history. See e.g. ADAMS, SAMUEL; BROWN, JOHN; BEGIN, MENACHEM.
- Terrorism is the last weapon left to the dispossessed. - Athena Andreadis
SUICIDE BOMBER, phr. The insistence of a misery upon company.
- In the early days of the Roman Empire, mothers reportedly instructed their sons, “Come back with your shields, or on them." Later on, this custom declined; instead, yellow ribbons proliferated on the SUVs of the Via Appia. Rome too declined, and fell. To many Americans, these days, mottos like “Live free or die" are an embarrassment, and, whenever possible, performers remove all references to death from songs like “The Battle Hymn of the Republic". Had such folk predominated in the early 1860s, when the “Battle Hymn" was written (by a woman), the Home of the Brave might still be the Land of Black African Slavery.
