Cast and characters (names changed to protect the innocent, blah, blah, blah...)

Me - I am a 34 year old single female. I am a medical professional. I have worked long and hard to get to where I am in my career, but I want more. I want family - a husband, children... I am working toward that goal and will be sharing my experiences here. Of note, I have also recently been diagnosed with Attention Defecit Disorder. I'm sure I will be writing on that subject as well.

My roomate - I'll call her Mercedes. She is 34 also and has a boyfriend of four months, Justin. He travels for work and is not often here, but when he is... let's just say there is alot to write about.

The guy I am dating - I'll call him Ryan. He is a police officer. Newly divorced and still raw from that. We have been dating for about 3 months with the understanding that he is not ready for a serious relationship and we each date other people.

The guy I used to date - Brian. A divorced dad of two girls. He is always stressed out. He contacts me randomly with hopes of rekindling our spark, but disappears as unexpectedly as he shows up. I've come to accept him as a friend and expect his randomness.

My online guy - Tucker. He is a recovering alcoholic who runs a sober house. Great guy - very scared of a relationship, but willing to e-mail and talk on the phone. We have been friends since July, but have never met. He lives less than 5 miles from me.

My college boyfriend - Caleb. He is married with two small children. We keep in touch online. He is going through a hard time in his marriage, and I listen.

The man I love - Mr. Big. Yes, I steal the name from the tv show. Is there a girl out there who doesnt have a Mr. Big? Unavailable, unobtainable, yet at the same time, my biggest cheerleader, favorite lover and best sounding board... He knows everything that happens to me and gives me endless emotional support. Sounds perfect right? Did I mention he is married?

My best friend - Samantha. We met in graduate school and work in the same field. She lives a couple of states away with her husband and two kids. (She does not know about Mr. Big, although Mercedes does.)

My other best friend - Nina. We have been friends since fifth grade, but recently have had many differences. Our lives have grown in different directions, and each of us has dealt with that differently.

My work - I recently changed jobs to a larger hospital that will be affording me more opportunities for professional growth. I have been there for six months and so far so good.
