Moving along we see that the Gnostics had answers, and more importantly, the answers they had support science as we now understand it two thousand years later.
Where the Gnostics got their material from is impossible to ascertain today; we see that they polluted these answers by employing ancient beliefs and answering the ancient beliefs by the use of this knowledge.
We have to assume the earliest Christians were Gnostic and therefore that what they stated about Jesus was closer to the truth than what today’s Bibles and theologians profess. They said Jesus came to free humanity from the evil God’s of the physical universe. They also stated that he came with this message after the death of his physical body and his spiritual resurrection. The Gnostics stated that the notion a body once dead walked again was idiotic which we today know is true.
Paul was Gnostic, Jesus was Gnostic, and all authentic material pertaining to Christianity from before Constantine is Gnostic. We know the Christians after Constantine destroyed and falsified material, such things as “Histories� by Hippolytus and Antiquities by Josephus being the best known examples.
The Gnostics stated that there were the forces of the physical universe which were designed to keep us trapped within the physical universe. They also stated that these forces needed the spiritual aspect which we are in order for the physical universe to survive.
We saw in “The Apocalypse of Paul� where Paul described the “Rulers� of the physical world trapping the spirit after a body died and then impressing on this spirit or soul false information or guilt before sending it back into another body.
This was one of the aspects which the Gnostics saw happening in the physical universe and it was this trap which they desired to escape.
St. Irenaeus was the first person we know who opposed the Gnostics about 200 CE (AD). Up until that time Gnostics had been persecuted by Romans and others for refusing to bow down to any of the Gods of the physical universe. St Irenaeus may have attempted to alleviate that problem by adopting Judaism and innocently connecting it to the Gnostics. This is highly unlikely even though there are many indications Irenaeus was intent on helping humanity. It is most probable he was the first person to pervert the knowledge of the ancients.
If the Archons or rulers were as powerful as it is proposed in early Gnostic material; we would not be unreasonable if we assumed they interfere in the affairs of humanity for the sake of their own status quo which means we are eternally trapped. This being so, Irenaeus is far more suspect as being the “Antichrist� or anti savior of humanity!
We saw clearly in my earlier refutation of modern religions how there is no reason to believe they have any truth whatever of their own. Yes, they borrowed some truths from others, this would have been necessary to make their repressive cult effective.
The Gnostics were persecuted by the Romans for not believing in their Gods for a few centuries. The Christians took over after Constantine in the fourth century and murdered and repressed Gnostics until 1208 CE, (AD).
In 1208 CE Pope Innocent III issued an edict to slaughter all “Heathens�; this was war against the Gnostics who until then did not believe in warfare. By 1208 the Gnostics numbered in the millions all over Europe and the Near East. The slaughter which ensued makes Hitler look like a kindergarten bully.
People today follow the “Just in case� cults (Judaism, Islam and Christianity) just in case there is something true in the cults. There is not; the JIC cults are the traps of the physical universe which ensure the physical survives at the cost of the spiritual. JIC are the cults of lies and deceptions.
