The Good Old Days; What the Heck were they Thinking?
What does it say about the appropriate family unit of the pre-baby boomer generation when elderly women attempting to live out their final years in peace are instead living in uncertainty? Who are these seniors now attempting to live alone after being taken care of their whole lives?
An elderly woman dials 911 after her husband has been up for most of the night with diarrhea. He is now suffering from dehydration and is too weak to walk. He presents to paramedics mildly confused and covered with fecal matter. His wife begins to cry bitterly.

It is not just the elderly
I believe that there are many younger men and women who do not know the details of their spouse or loved one. Sometimes one partner has the money and/or power, and takes control - until something goes wrong.

Yes. I suspect that there are women as well as men who don’t participate in the grueling reality of day to day life. They are just along for the ride; that is until the driver drops dead.
