The Festive Season is here!

Exodus | family | festive | Food | HOME | merry | relatives

Tomorrow is Deepavali or Diwali, as it is known as. A few days later, it will be 'Hari Raya Aidil Fitri'. The exodus home has begun since last two days.

Quiet towns will be alive again as their children drive home with their families to visit the closest families and relatives. Big cities will be rather quiet, except for the city folks who will still be around. Giant supermarkets and hyperstores will still be opened for business as usual, abeit lesser shoppers.

On the highways and roads, no doubt there will be lots of vehicles. Lorries, containers and tankers rushing to make the last minute transport of goods before the festive seasons, families in passenger cars wishing to reach home as soon as possible, and passenger filled buses on the way to some distant towns, hoping to make it a joyous reunion for everyone.

Schools have a whole week long holiday. Pupils are happy as they can spend more time at home with their parents. Some have already left the buzzing city with their parents , joining thousands of others in ther exodus home.

Well, there will be many who will take this whole week holiday to spend time with their families away from home. They may not be celebrating the festivals, yet the quality time spent with their children will be as much fun too.

Of course, no one wants to celebrate any festivals without food. Food is as important as money to everyone! In Malaysia, each culture has its own food, although it is not so significant these days. One can almost eat any type of food one likes, as there are many food stalls and restaurants offering them.

Eating well, in Asia (for most Asians) means living well!

So, happy holidays!
