The dangerous political game being played.

Not only did South Dakota ban abortions, but Mississippi followed suit. So now, the Supreme Court is less likely to decline the case. South Dakota meant to force their hand, and Mississippi actually forced it.

Losing Roe V Wade is scary, but it's not the scariest thing about this. The scary part is that they made no concession for rape or incest. The scary part is that even though SD makes big news, Mississippi is bowled under by the weight of whatever scandal of the day the President is going through. And the scariest part of all is that in America, even if you are raped, the father has rights. Normally that would be a good thing, but let me spell it out. If you are raped in South Dakota or Mississippi, you can either keep quiet about who raped you in order to give the baby up for adoption and never tell because you would open up the rapist's "rights", OR you can point the finger, get the guy convicted, and open the baby up to a lifetime of being in foster care since their mother doesn't want them and their father is in jail for creating them. Or there's a third pollyanna sort of option, which the nitwits in these states are hoping for. You get raped, you put the baby up for adoption, and the rapist doesn't want any parental rights. You still must carry the baby to term and go through a daily reminder for the rest of your life that somewhere there is a person who could come looking for you that has your DNA and a convicted rapist. If you are unlucky enough to be the victim of incest, not only do all the same things apply, but you have to deal with the added disgust of your rapist being a relative.

Nobody is out cheering for abortion. Nobody feels good about it. When at an abortion clinic, they have found that the woman having the abortion is likely to use the words "killing my baby". It has a great impact on their life. It is not something anyone wants or looks forward to, no matter how many they have or how much they support the right. I myself could never have an abortion, no matter how much I support the right. UNLESS I was raped. Then, I would rather burn in the hell of whatever god chose to inflict punishment on me than risk handing that baby over to a pervert.

Thanks South Dakota. Thanks Mississippi. It's amazing the lengths people will go to in order to prove a point. I for one will give a free car ride to anyone from South Dakota or Mississippi to Massachusetts. What you do there is your own business. THANK GOD!

You know, I don't keep up

Knot Says:

You know, I don't keep up with the news much. I was really, really shocked when this happened. I just didn't think it was possible.

So what's next, I wonder?

There are other ways to look at this too.

I am completely against abortion unless lifethreatening. Even then, I couldn't make the decision myself. If someone is raped it would be a constent reminder, but it is something that God has given that person out of something bad. That baby should not be blamed. The person would have a chance to change something in the world by raising that child. Putting children in foster care is harder than someone getting over being raped. That child is more likely to commit crimes later because there is nothing for them. I have thought about this a lot. I personally know both sides. I was almost raped, and yes it is still scary after a husband and few children, but I was also in foster care and would rather relive the incident. I know deep down, God was protecting me, even if I didn't feel safe at the time. Tracy J. Paul

If a person is afraid of

If a person is afraid of offending their God, then by all means, they should keep the baby. But that's not what this is about. For this exact reason, God should not have any place in American politics. Morals exist to tell you what is right and wrong within your own life. Laws exist to tell you what is right and wrong within your own society, state, or country. There is not an overlap.

South Dakota,...

is also now taking another look at the law to see if it makes sense and is actually legal, so things should be getting very interesting indeed.
