Everyone in these blogs are writing about the Corpse Flower. Well, I have a picture of it for them. In some future edition of the internet I may even be able to include how it smells. You will not be thanking me for that. The Corpse Flower smells and it is not a pleasant order. The odor was so strong that the gardener tending the plant had to wear a respirator!

Question: Is this a slow growing plant or a fast growing plant? It took ten years from the time it was planted as a small pea sized tuber to when it bloomed. However, it is a big plant, with some leaves growing as much as 5 inches a day. ( I have had weeds that seem to grow that fast in the garden. ) Slow to flower, and fast to grow I guess.

If you get a chance to see a Corspe Flower in bloom, I suggest you take advantage of it. To see a blooming Corspe Flower is a rare thing in the US.
