The Bush Administration's Efforts to Conceal Conflict Failed

Article from the Air Force Insider:

It's finally out in the open. The Bush Administration's efforts to conceal the increasing conflict between the United States and Saudi Arabia have failed.

Lest there be any doubt on this issue, it was King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia himself who set the record straight. At the recent summit meeting of Arab leaders, Abdullah described the United States' struggle to improve the lives of the Iraqi people as an "illegitimate foreign occupation.

"With friends like this, who needs enemies?

Note:"While in the Air Force when I was young, I spent a year at Dhahran Field in Saudi. We weren't issued ammo and couldn't touch an Arab for fear of reprisal. I don't believe our leaders will ever understand the psyche of the Arab nations or their people."

with your closing statement,"I don't believe our leaders will ever understand the psyche of the Arab nations or their people."

Well said, and I think (unfortunately) exactly on the mark.
