Thank You For Smoking

Even though V for Vendetta won the box office this weekend, the real winner was "Thank You for Smoking". "Thank You for Smoking", a satire about the tobacco industry was only released on 5 screens around the country, compared to "V for Vendetta"'s 3,500 screens. The film brought in over $250,000.

These are huge numbers for an independent movie, released to mostly art house theaters. I am very excited about it being released nationwide on April 7. The book by Christopher Buckley is also selling well, according to the Washington Post.
