Worship In Your Quiet Time

Pastorloman | Quiet Time | worship | youtube

I've felt led recently to incorporate more worship into my Quiet Times, but that's easier said than done. I've tried it before and it's worked something like this...

PLAN A : Sing a song. Felt more than a little uncomfortable about it and tried to keep it down to nigh on silence.

Need prayers?

christianity | God | Praise | prayer | Religion | worship

I love the World Center for Intercessory Prayer website. As a Christian, I really believe in the power of prayer. In the bible, it talks about prayer over and over again for a reason. God wants us to pray and talk to him.

God works in so many mysterious ways

christianity | God | Praise | Religion | worship

Everyday, God has continued to amaze me in the ways that he looks out for the ones that seek him.

Over the last two years, I have really grown in my spirtituality. God is amazing. I have been saved for about fifteen years now, but sometime during the years I had let life catch up with me and I drifted away. It was a mistake I wish I had never made. About two and a half years ago, I recommited myself to Christ. And as an adult that is really trying to please God, I have seen a drastic difference in my life. I've seen the work he has done, and the miracles that he has performed. How am I different than I was before? Well know, I talk to god. I pray as much as I can, not just to ask for something or when times are hard. I pray to thank GOD for everything I have in my life. I pray to talk to him and worship him. I thank him for everything from kids to a roof over our heads. When times are hard, I pray and thank him for the things are going good. And I have seen that prayer works. When a person prays to god for different things, not just to ask for something, he's going to answer. Even if it seems he isn't going to answer in the right way, he's going to answer in the way that it will work out best for you.

Gossip in the church

christianity | christians | church | Jesus | Religion | worship

For the last few months, I have been attending a church on and off, and I am amazed at the gossip in the church. This church is located in a smaller area. It doesn't have a whole lot of members. But it seems that everyone knows everyone's business and they are very quick to talk about it.

Where I live is a bigger area. In the churches here, there are a lot more people that attend, and it doesn't seem that anyone really knows anything about anyone else.

Christian Singles

christianity | God | heaven | Jesus | Praise | prayer | Religion | salvation | singles | worship

Well, tonight is the night for my singles class. It's alot of fun to interact with other Christian singles. The class addresses the hurt that comes from a broken marriage or relationship. This is something that is very important to me.

The class has done so much good for me. By attending I am learning what God has given ME to offer in a relationship. I am learning signs of a man that truly has respect for our God.

In my eyes, a true Christian would make a good person to have a relationship with. The bible really tries to teach us how to be good people. I have no complaints with a man that would love me like he loves hisself.

In this day and age, it's hard to meet a truly good person. It's to bad more churches don't offer classes such as these. I am definitely not in any hurry to be involved again, and I may not be for a long time. But it's a wonderful way to be around others that are healing from broken relationships.

Why do people have the wrong view of Christians?

christianity | God | heaven | Jesus | Praise | prayer | Religion | salvation | worship

I don't understand why people views Christians in the light that they do.

Alot of people have this idea that anyone that is a Christian is boring, unimaginative, and just someone to ridicule.

I am a Christian, and I'm not that way. I think I'm a lot of fun, and I think I have a great sense of humor. I don't walk around with my head hung down, muttering words of doom. I don't try to force anyone into being a Christian.

I have a proper fear of the lord. When I say this, I mean that I realize he's there, and as a Christian, I do need to maintain a certain way of life. I try to do the right thing.

Really, the bible isn't asking us to live like nuns. It's telling us to not steal, lie, cheat, etc. What's wrong with that? Why should a person be made fun of or ridiculed for this?

Driven Out By Drums

church | decibel meter | drums | hymnbooks | worship

The other day I read a blog entry about an eighty-year-old lady who was forced to leave her church after spending most of her adult life serving willingly in any capacity she was requested to serve in.

Did she hate the pastor? No. Had she been involved in some huge disagreement with another church member? No. Had she suffered some terrible physical malady that would keep her from attending future services? No.

GODS MARKETS IDOL WORSHIP

Religion | worship

Are all Indians idol worshippers?

An erroneous impression exists that all Indians are IDOL WORSHIPPERS and RITUAL MANIACS. It is not so. Nor all Indians are not iconoclasts. There is room for everybody with a different opinion.

Are idols useless?

Idols or icons (example: a cross) have their own uses. Persons who cannot concentrate on formless God can concentrate on idol which is nothing but an image of the God. Just as when we see the statue of Washington or Lincoln, our hearts get filled with their memories and reverence, when persons not well versed with the various facets of philosophy see the pictures/idols of Gods come to identify the God's attributes.

Without Excuse

Bible | environment | God | gospel | ocean | rain | sea | solar system | sun | thanksgiving | worship

For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened. Romans 1:21

Paul, as we have seen in earlier entries, starts his systematic presentation of the gospel by highlighting the problem facing the human race. The problem is expressed in verse 18 - "the wrath of God is being revealed from heaven."

Palm Sunday- Jesus comes to Jerusalem

Christian | christianity | church | God | Religion | worship

Today is the celebration of Palm Sunday. What a joyous occasion! Jesus enters Jerusalem on a donkey to cries of "Hosanna". The children and people waved palm branches and set their garments down as a gesture of respect as Jesus comes into the city. Those in attendance would never know that in just a few short days, Jesus would be put to death.

Palm Sunday reminds me of a parade. It is a time of joy, excitement and anticipation. Children are running about, cheering, and shouting. But the parade of Palm Sunday is just the beginning of the real reason for Easter. The joy of the parade quickly turns to sorrow and mourning. Palm Sunday just sets the stage for the last supper, the
