Popcorn! Yes, corn is a whole grain. It’s been given a bad rap for being low in nutritional value, but the truth is that it’s low in calories, virtually fat free, and a good source of energy building carbohydrates. Don’t fear whole grain carbohydrates. They are essential in maintaining optimal health.
Ditch the pre-packaged garbage at snack time and get back to whole foods. Pre-packaged snacks and microwave popcorn are loaded with hydrogenated oils and a multitude of other ingredients that I won’t attempt to spell, let alone eat!

However, as the concept of eating whole grain foods instead of refined white flour catches on, whole grains are becoming more readily available in forms that require less preparation time than you might expect. Of course, it’s still more likely that you’ll get the most nutrients from a grain which hasn’t been processed at all and will therefore require more cooking time. But not all whole grains take a long time to cook.

Eat, Drink, and Be Healthy, by Walter C. Willett, and P.J. Skerrett, attempts to do three major things; deconstruct and reconstruct the traditional food pyramid we all grew up with, give us a new idea of how to structure our eating habits based on intelligent and thorough medical and scientific studies, and give us a few recipes to get the whole thing kick started.

No, it was a snap, I joke to myself.
Of course it was challenging!
“How did you do it? Don’t tell me diet and exercise!
This is the general response I get when people see that I’ve lost nearly 200 pounds. People want a magic bullet for weight loss, which makes it difficult for them to see what’s most important.
Decide to be healthy, not thin!
