bloggerparty | earning online | livejournal | MySpace | Social Networking | Web 2.0 | Yuwie

Blogger Party is a great website for blogging and reading other peoples blogs. I used to use LiveJournal, but very much appreciate that Blogger Party shows that it respects the contact producers (thats you and me) by sharing some of the revenue. Kinda makes you wonder why sites like MySpace don't do the same thing. After all, MySpace became a household name not because they were so great, but because everyone was there.

YellowPages.com versus Folksonomy

democratization | folksonomy | Web 2.0 | Yellow Pages

YellowPages.com just does not cut it in today’s Web 2.0 world. They have completely missed out on the democratization/folksonomy cultures sweeping the Web. The folksonomy culture ensures that web pages get attention based on what other users think of the page; and not just on how much one is willing to pay to get attention for a page. Thus, folksonomy ensures the playing field is leveled between those with lots of money and those with lots of happy customers but low advertising budgets.

Youtube.com -- one of the hottest Web 2.0 companies announced earlier this month that Sequoia (a premier Bay Area VC) was funding their expansion by investing $8 million in a Series B investment.

Note, this is in addition to the $3.5 million Series A investment for YouTube.

Again, there are few details on how the money will be used, or the implied valuation. However, I have a few conjectures:
