VoIP is an acronym for Voice over Internet Protocol, or in more common terms phone service over the Internet. If you have a reasonable quality Internet connection you can get phone service delivered through your Internet connection instead of from your local phone company, or in addition to your traditional phone service. VoIP service providers usually offer better rates than traditional phone companies, but sometimes do not offer common phone services as 911 services, phone directory listings, or 411 services.

Unlimited telephone calls can now be made to your family, friends and relatives in Singapore while you are overseas.

Use your iPod or MP3 player to make VoIp calls
Submitted by highlander on July 18, 2007 - 3:39am. cheap calls | iPod | MP3 | voipYes, that is correct. you can use an iPod or MP3 player to make VoIP calls.
How is this possible, you may ask?
Just keep this one fact in mind...when connected to a PC, an iPod or an MP3 player is recognized as an external drive. You can store more on the "drive" than just music or video.

1. Choose your Service Provider
First, you will need to decide what type of VoIP service you will require. VoIP comes in plans for Residential Users, Small Business Offices; Medium sized businesses, Business-to-Business service providers and International VoIP. The best way to begin is by choosing your needs, and then compare different plans. A good idea is to make a list of all of your requirements in a VoIP plan. This will help you determine which plan is right for you. Some service providers will meet the needs of a small business under their residential plans, while others will have services designed specifically for the small home business. Residential service providers typically include a phone adapter for use with the VoIP service. The Phone adapter allows you to use your house phones with VoIP.

The Product That Wasn't There
Submitted by lecter on December 19, 2006 - 5:32am. advice | auction | ebay | MkMoney | voipYou see a Louis Vuitton purse on eBay for a price too good to resist. So you win the auction, then you wait and you wait, but the purse never arrives.
Non delivery of a product is the most common auction fraud. In Kansas last year, police investigated a woman who was selling designer purses on eBay she didn't actually have in stock. After collecting the money from an auction, she'd go online and try to find a knockoff purse selling for less than the winning bid, then send it on to the buyer. Much of time, though, she didn't bother, and the bidder got nothing at all.
The race among VOIP service providers.
Submitted by mala on July 26, 2006 - 6:35am. voipI could not suppress my facination for any advanced technology in communication.
It is probably because I still witness very poor development in telecommunication in India, in spite of top technical expertise. It may be due to the brain drain.
As per the Telephia's Total Communications Survey for Q2 2006, Vonage occupies number 1 spot in the VOIP market share with nearly 54%, closely followed by Verizon VoiceWing and AT&T with a 5.5% share each.
VOIP and Yahoo. What a combination!
Submitted by mala on July 15, 2006 - 8:04pm. broadband internet | dsl | internet telephone | voipSitting in India, I know I can't comment much on the benefits of VOIP.
But I forsee big entry of VOIP providers in India and Pakistan in the near future. This post itself may indeed entice top VOIP providers to view India as their bright potential market for their products.
That reminds me to share what I have learnt recently about one of the best VOIP providers.

Submitted by IntricateGirl on July 3, 2006 - 8:17pm. calls | icall | skype | voipA lot of people know about Skype. A friend talked me into it a while ago. So far, I have been somewhat happy with it. It works well enough, and she swears by it. She used it to call her boyfriend halfway across the world. For me, I just don't care for the layout. There's a new one though.
Go to http://www.icall.com and download their software, and you can make AND receive calls for free. They also offer free customizable voicemail. Not even Skype does all of this.

New business opportunity
Submitted by Geobye on April 12, 2006 - 8:32pm. $ Freedom | Be reach | MkMoney | voipOut of approximately 30 million playing the lottery only 1 person wins per month! Let no one fool you; no one will ever give you a million dollars just so and you cannot outsmart anyone into just giving it to you. You must work hard to achieve it- and you must be serious about it. Now if you are serious about business the question is;
What can you do with?
