Maybe We Need A Mass Hug

Over the last week, a couple of incidents have come to light that makes me think that maybe we, as a world, need to come together for a mass hug.

The first is this video that's been circulating the internet showing, supposedly, a Russian business office of some kind, where suddenly this one guy goes berserk and starts attacking everything, people included. It runs a little over 3 minutes, and there was even a second recording from a different angle that helped show some of what was going on from another perspective. The jury is still out as to whether that was real or not, but to date no one has been able to disprove it.

We are very busy in our daliy life which involves many tensions and many problems. In 24 hours of our day we think of our life and even we don't have time to think of our socitey. We feel:

"why should I think of Others?" It is not correct. As a human and a person in the society we all have the responsibility to help and do something good to the society.

Terrorism and the Politics of Violence

What is terrorism?

Is it just ostensible display of violence? Is it just indiscriminate violence perpetrated by some groups of wayward people against the state and its citizens as we are most often led to believe? But is it not a state-sponsored idea that groups of wayward people commonly known as extremists only are reponsible for all those massacres and indiscriminate acts of violence?

How do I LOVE Myself When I Feel Like Crap?

Many people see my constant, happy smile and make instant assumptions about me and my past. However, my childhood was a pretty traumatic one. In the bad old days, as I call them, I would pass a mirror, momentarily liked what I saw but then suddenly, and inexplicably, would start telling myself that I was 'crap', that I 'hated' myself and I was 'pathetic'. I had buried my trauma deep inside me, refusing to face them and, slowly, it took its toll in a continuous lack of self-love and low self-esteem. Gradually, and painfully, I learned that I had to sort out my past, face it and move on, and then begin the slow process of self-love. The wonderful result is clear to see now.

A different viewpoint.

A friend sent me something in an email the other day. The subject line was, "a very difficult read, but worth it". It wasn't a lie. Some novels are difficult to read because we don't understand the words or concepts within them. Words and concepts can be learned, and these are ultimately easy for those who take the time to understand them. But some things are difficult to read because we understand them, but don't want to. That is the kindest way of describing this link.

Revelations at my sister's graduation, and why the war was completely necessary.

I went to my sister's graduation early this month. Because her class was a small one, they did the graduation a little differently than most I've been to. The school made no attempt to hide its religious affiliations, and the keynote speaker was a minister.

He told a story about how he was on a flight once, going to perform a relative's wedding. But after they landed, they had trouble even pulling up to the gate. See, that's when the whole eastern seaboard did not have electricity. Finally, they figured out how to get them off the plane, but they couldn't even open the doors to leave the airport. There were no lights, no way to retrieve their luggage, and all the other small things that are normally taken for granted were unavailable. He finally was able to leave, and another relative picked him up, but they discovered that they were low on gas. Guess what. Without electricity, there was no way to operate the pumps. They made it home by some miracle, but they were counting on the power being restored by the next morning. It wasn't. At that point, they gathered enough gas from neighbors who had it on hand to mow their lawns, and they were able to get to the wedding rehersal.

On Violence In Iraq (by BigBadJohnny)

In the past I have taken the position that the ongoing civil war was a seperate, independent coincidense of the coalition occupation.
Yesterday I posted on this site an article about the kidnapping and subsequent release of the Iraqi Olympic Committee and the TaekwonDo team members. These incidents raise questons in my mind.

The Last One Standing

At the current rate of killing in Iraq, if the Iraqi's keep it up, the Americans will be able to just walk away because there won't be anyone left to defend.

According to the International news agency almost 6,000 Iraqi's were killed in the last two months.
Hundreds of teachers, judges, religious leaders and doctors have been killed. This is somewhat remeniscent of the Red Army's march across China under Mao. It took China years to recover from the loss of her educated class.

BARBARIANS

PEOPLE THAT USE VIOLENCE AS A MEANS OF BRINGING ATTENTION TO THEIR CAUSE ACTUALLY DO THE OPPOSITE. HOW CAN ANYONE FEEL ANY KIND OF SYMPATHY OR EMPATHY FOR VIOLENCE?

GHANDI,MARTIN LUTHER KING, NELSON MANDELA ACHIEVED A GREAT DEAL MORE COMPASSION TO THEIR CAUSE THROUGH PEACEFUL DEMONSTRATION. THESE PEOPLE TURNED WORLD OPINION IN THEIR FAVOR. THEY ACHEIVED MORE THROUGH THEIR DEMONSTRATION OF HUMILTIY THAN ALL OF THE VIOLENT ACTS THROUGHOUT HISTORY. IN FACT HISTORY HAS SHOWN THAT IT WILL NOT TOLERATE VIOLENCE. IT HAS SHOWN THAT BARBARIANS ARE HATED AND DISPISED FOR THEIR CRUELTY. IN THE END, THEY HAVE GAINED NOTHING.

Sports Betting goes topless. He grabbed his what!? FREE Picks!!!

Last week I commented on the fact that the popular content list had not changed for several days. When I took a look at the top blogs, they had so many more reads than any I had ever seen I thought they would be permanently embedded there. Then, yesterday, Admin wiped the slate clean for the new week and new month. But myspaceoryours once again proves that you can’t hold a good blog down. I’ve heard that sex sells so I am going topless just to compete. I’m not proud of it. But hey, I do what I got to do.

Horror Films Peak On Hill

I recently viewed "Silent Hill" at the movies and it is one
in a line of recent films to visually assault the viewer with
unsettling images that overwhelm the story.
There isn't a lot to the story."Saw" had a story line to match the gore. This one just shows the scriptwriters'distaste
for fundementalist Christianity.
The saving grace is the visual beauty of the horrific imagery
which I believe is the point of the whole exercise.

Sports Betting makes adjustments. Like all good teams do. FREE Picks!!!

Since I mostly write about sports, stats are kind of important to me. And statistically speaking yesterday was my worse day for reads. I noticed, like many of you probably have, that the popular content list has not changed in several days. Not even A_Bob, with a nice entry on Sunday could crack the top ten. I decided to check out the first few blogs on the top of the list to see why they do so well. When I saw how many reads Tamiya and my buddy myspaceoryours have I felt bad about my performance. In sports, making adjustments is key to success. So I went back to the drawing board.

so this is sort of embarrasing. not because of the events that took place today, but because of the result. the result being that i am still unemployed i think...you'll see.

so i was supposed to start a new job today as a loan officer. i chose to go in the direction of sales because of the earning potential. i moved from new jersey to cali a couple months ago. i now live in san diego, but not exactly. i live in la jolla (the jewel), which is a suburb. Although I arrived here in a car i did not drive and at the present time i dont own a car. so i needed to get to this job using public transportation. i call the sd commute customer service line and ask them what stop i need to get off at, where i need to go from there, what times do the bus leave, what times to they come back and how much it costs.

Violence SHOULD Have Been the Answer...

This is so stupid I just have to post it:

So I needed to buy a cake for my sons baptism. My sister and I briefly shopped around. We found an affordable place not far from my house. A nice old man (who oddly resembled Santa) took my order and ran my credit card. He said the cake would be ready in a few days.

(This is where it gets good)
So I go back to pick up the cake. The same jolly old man takes care of me again. He says, “Can I help you bring this to your car?. Since it had two layers, I agreed.

The bloody massacre that left 15 dead at Columbine High in Littleton, Colo., including the two alleged teenage killers from self-inflicted wounds, was executed with the precision and detachment expected of battle-tested mercenaries, not high school seniors living in suburban homes.
