How to become a Video Game Tester

video game tester | Video Games

Have you ever thought of becoming a video game tester? Great job you say ha, but where do I look? First off, not everyone could be a video game tester. If you are already a gamer though who spends at least 20 hours a week playing video games then becoming a video game tester may be right for you. Just remember though that you are doing an actual job. It's not like your just having fun playing games all you want. What I mean is, you might have to play the same level of a game over and over and over and over as you try to spot bugs or glitches in the game. Sure, it's not hard labor or anything but one must understand that they are providing a service and must file reports on their testing of the games they work on. What that means is you can't just sit down and have fun with the game; you have to analyze it, evaluate it, and be aware of everything that is going on on-screen. In retrospect, you won't be playing the game, you'll be testing it. Although that may not mean much to regular gamers, it means all the difference in the world to a video game tester.
