With the free iPhone 3G's banner opening weekend and newsstands looking like a rack of brochures for the device, a review of the iPhone 3G at this point might be pro forma, except for one thing: Much of the iPhone 3G and the new iPhone 2.0 software remains an enigma to professionals and enterprises, users set apart by, among other things, their tendency to use punctuation in their e-mail. These users demand more from a handset than a cellular browser and YouTube.

U.S. air carrier United Airlines has followed Singapore Airlines to offer free iPod and free iPhone connectivity in business class for international flights.

The carrier has begun to re-fit its fleet of aircraft with new entertainment systems that allow passengers to plug in (and recharge) their free iPod or free iPhone in-flight, enabling them to watch video or listen to music held on the device using the aircraft's existing entertainment system and 15-inch video screen.

3g iPhone Unlocking to be Exterminated?

Apple took a different business model for the free iPhone 3G. As per the new business model, the cellular carrier will provide the iPhone at a subsidized price, make-up the cost in monthly charges and don’t provide a chunk of their revenues to Apple. Previously, the customer had to pay the full retail price of the iPhone and carriers had to funnel their some their revenues to Apple.
