This is a hilarious scene from the movie Date Movie. I haven't seen the whole movie, but I think it looks pretty funny in a dumb kind of way. I'm sure it is entertaining if nothing else.

I gripped the impossibly large steering wheel. 'Now, depress the clutch and put the car in gear'. Whoa! Too much information! What on earth was the clutch - and where was it?

My dad pointed out the correct pedal and showed me how to change gear - it was a manual, of course - the gods just weren't on my side that day. I gripped the stick in my left hand, put all my puny weight (I was a skinny child) on the clutch pedal and released it. The engine made a sound like a cow with consumption, sputtered and died. It had stalled. I tried again ... and again ... and again, risking flooding the engine, although I didn't know that then. On the fifth attempt, the quiet roar of a starting engine reverberated in my ears. Now what?

The first time I got behind the wheel of a car, I was eleven - and I was petrified. We were on a narrow road that wound torturously through the mountains of Trinidad's Southern Range and in those pre-safety-conscious days, there wasn't a warning sign to be seen nor a safety rail to protect unwary travellers from the sheer 300-foot drop. And there were no seatbelts, either. I could already hear the thud and see the flames -– those hours spent watching car chases on television had not been wasted.
