After writing the entry entitled “Magkano Po Ito? (How Much is This?)”, I was struck with the idea of writing something about consumer goods prices in the Philippines (particularly in Metro Manila). Well, it’s really more of a “recording” than “writing”… nevertheless, I thought, this kind of information can be very useful to a lot of people (such as those who are doing research and those who are planning to visit the country).

Sleep apnea in pacemaker patients:

A French study says people with pacemakers suffer from a high incidence of undiagnosed sleep apnea. The study,which looked at 98 patients with pacemakers, found that 57 percent had undiagnosed sleep apnea, WebMD reported.The report,published in Ciruclation:Journal of the American Heart Association,says all potential pacemaker patients should be screened for sleep apnea, which is known to increase risk of cardiovascular disease.

Everytime I get on the bus, I noticed everyone sits in a seat that is completly empty. Why do people fear sitting next to others? Just the other day a man got on the bus, started to sit next to me, and then noticed a completly empty seat near by so instead sat there. I agree that we all need a bit of personal space but why can people not sit next to one another at all?

Yesterday I had to go back to work around 6pm (I'm a personal trainer, so i go back and forth to the gym when I have clients). So I hop on a crosstown bus during the height of rush hour. Yesterday it was pouring raining, so people who would normally walk were taking the bus so it was pretty crowded. Luckily I get on the bus before it gets to crowded so I had a front row seat for what was about to happen.
