Giving criticism is a lot easier than getting criticism. Criticism is meant to help the aspiring writer and not to make them feel worthless for what they had written.
I once had a teacher who had a rule of thumb to always think of at least three things that you liked about the writers work before you would begin to criticize them. I have found that this truly does work when you are looking over someone else's work. It is easy to find flaws in something but when you are trying to find all of the good in it and not just the bad then you will be amazed at what all the writer is able to teach you.

I have to buy some new clothes as soon as possible. In the winter I didn't have to worry. I could just throw on a sweater and a nice pair of pants and walk out the door. Now that spring is here, things are not so easy. I have about 2 nice blouses and 2 pairs of nice pants that I can wear at my new job. That is just not going to cut it.

And it is hard to find shoes this time of year. Every pair in the 6 stores I went to is open-toed or pointy-toed. I just want a nice pair of comfy, professional-looking shoes. I don't think that is asking too much.
