Is It So Wrong To Not Care About Severe Weather

news | storms | TV | weather

So here I am last night, got dinner done, and ready to watch some tv. Waiting until about eight o'clock to watch this silly little show called "Dont Forget The Lyrics".
Now normally I dont watch this show on a regular basis, as I think it's a little boring and drug out for 30 minutes or an hour, not sure even how long it's on.

We sympathise with our Aussie cousins terrible weather during the last week

australia | big boss | EverydayPrayer | online bathroom shop | storms

I certainly have to sympathise with our Aussie cousins across the ditch with the terrible weather they have experienced during the last week or so. Any loss of life is tragic.

In recent years it has been drought and bushfires that Australia and Aussies have had to endure. We here in New Zealand have been extremely pleased that our fire-fighters were able to help out late last year and early this year.

Silly Dog

dogs | pets | storms

Yesterday in the evening we had a big storm complete with hail, wind, lightning and thunder. My poor little dog got the living daylights scared out of her and spent the night hiding behind the toilet. Not just a couple of hours, I am talking the entire night.

It's Not My Fault!

hottest | snow | storms | weather

Last night I took the trash out to the curb. It was overcast, had stopped raining, and I wondered what all this fuss was about this supposed winter storm that we were supposed to be having.

I wake up this morning, walk into the living room, and my wife says "it's ugly out there, and it's your fault." Of course I have to go look out the window, and suddenly it's winter wonderland again. I mean, there's at least 5 or 6 inches out there now, and it's still coming down hard. The predictions are for upwards of a foot of snow from this storm; all we needed was 7 inches to surpass the highest April snowfall totals in history around here, so I guess that's a given at this point.

Ever been hit by a Derecho?

derecho | power outage | St. Louis | storms | weather

I have! Actually, I've been hit by 2 in the past three days!! A derecho is when the damaging winds race ahead of the heavy rainfall along a gust front of a thunderstorm, or a cluster of thunderstorms. As you may have heard or read, the St. Louis Area was hit hard Wednesday evening by the first round. It was so strange to see a storm of this magnitude, and the direction it was coming, allowed us to acutally sit on our front porch and watch the whole thing.

Today Is A Hammer Day

amusi | classic films | Hammer Films | horror | people I know | random thoughts | storms | thunder | weather

It has absolutely nothing to do with hardware stores, bankrupt MCs from the '90s, or stupid people (as in "dumber than a bag of hammers"). Today is a Hammer day because of the atmospheric and meteorological conditions that exist outside my window as I sit here babbling into cyberspace like a game show host doing bong hits.
