The widow of singer Sean Levert, named Angela Lowe, has decided to file a wrongful death lawsuit against the county officials who were holding him in jail when he had gotten sick soon before he died. She filed the lawsuit on Tuesday in federal court that accuses his jailers of showing disregard for his medical needs. Lowe and Levert’s estate are seeking to receive an unspecified amount in damages.

My son has just started making up his own songs. We're not talking about Grammy winning stuff here, but I think for a not-yet-three-year-old, it's still pretty amazing.

A few days ago, while he was watching kids use the diving board at the public pool, he spontaneously started singing, "Diving board, diving board..." It had a little tune to it. I thought it was neat and I told him so.

Today he was excited to get to play with a box that came from our local warehouse shopping place (you know, where you buy stuff in giant quantities and no one bags your crap for you so you have to snag boxes on the way out the door and try to fit your stuff in it so it doesn't roll all over your car...). He got this box and immediately plopped his "lovey" in it. This well-traveled stuffed blue doll is named Guy, chiefly because my husband refused to refer to it as a doll. "Where's your guy," he would ask my son, so as soon as my son understood that items had names, his guy became "Guy."
