second hand smoke

I didn't even know who Ben Ferguson was before about 10 minutes ago, and I already believe he's an idiot.

CNN Headline News brought this guy on to support, supposedly, the right's response to Don Imus being fired, saying that if Don Imus gets fired, Rosie O'Donnell should also be fired for comments she's made against evangelical Christians and a statement she made about a conspiracy about what happened on 9/11.

So, I hope not to offend anyone....actually, if anyone gets offended by this then maybe they deserve to be. But I am going to start freaking out on people if I have to see another obviously pregnant woman walking down the street with a cigarette in hand, or mothers pushing strollers or holding their babies while smoking...fathers too.

What is this? It has already been proven ad nauseum that second hand smoke kills, yet parents continue to smoke in front of their kids and/or while pregnant. This type of behavior is nothing short of child abuse. I'm sorry. I just don't see how there is any excuse for it.

I was just at the dentist where I overheard a conversation in which two people were talking about a mutual acquaintance whose wife was just diagnosed with lung cancer. She had never smoked or drank in her life, but her husband had smoked for several years in the beginning of their marriage.

For an anniversary some years ago he had asked his wife what she wanted as a present and she told him she wanted him to quit smoking. And he did. But little did either of them know it would be too little too late. This conversation made chills go through me.

Paris is burning, and no, I don’t mean cars getting torched in the Parisian suburbs.

My first time in Europe was about two years ago. I landed in the Copenhagen airport in Denmark, stepped off the plane, and got a nice big cancer-causing whiff of cigarette smoke.

The last few years living in Europe has consisted of an onslaught of second hand smoke attacks. You can’t walk down the street in Paris for more than a block without choking on someone’s cigarette smoke, unless it’s 7am on a Sunday.
