Gentrification and the associated homogenization are gradually sucking the life out of the once vibrant and diverse city of Chicago. Too many yuppies have relocated from the suburbs and instituted their shallow and materliasm-Obsessed lifestyle on the rest of the population. There are way too many Gap stores, etc. and parts of the city that were once alternative and quirky are becoming yuppiefied and suburbanized.
