As most of you know, I'm not married. I do, however look forward to tying the knot one day and want to attempt to know as much about the "reality" of it as possible.

Insert Style's Maxed Out and I have a great resource to add on to my personal finance addiction. They are currently running newlywed stories and I am finding them extremly helpful.

Not to say that even if these people knew ahead of time everything they are learning on the show would give them a perfect marriage, I do think that it is imperative that couples discuss finances just as much as they discuss anything else. I never realized that a lot of new couples kind of live financially separated, yet try to run a household "together." It's just not possible. I may have to write a book on the subject.

One of my favorite reality shows is "Going Tribal" on the Discovery Channel. This is a true reality show, not a contestant show. It features Bruce Parry, a former Royal Marine, who travels to extreme and out of the way tribes and villages, and spends some time to get to know them and their way of life. If there is a time-table, you never know it. He seems like he could easily be in some places for a week, and others for several weeks.
