Although they were influenced by country-rock acts like The Flying Burrito Brothers and The Byrds, Pure Prairie League had more in common with acts of the '70s like The Eagles, Firefall, and Poco who had more pop inclinations. Pure Prairie League never quite reached the commercial heights of those contemporaries, but they did manage to find an audience, placing four songs into the US Top 40.
