spent a great 4th of july with my 89y.o grandmother and family. They currently live in Jacksonville,Florida. It was a long ride up here from Tampa Bay but deffinately worth it. The weather up here in jacksonville is hot and muggy. The air is so thick you can cut it with a nife. During this Independance weekend I was thinking of all our soldiers over seas. The true heroes of today!..God bless those troops!. Well, I was thinking about the state of economy today. How when those men and women soldiers and sailors come back from war will they have jobs waiting for them? Now, I live in a time that with the world trade agreement is sending our jobs over seas. Will there be jobs for these brave men and women?...It scares me to think what will happen when they have sacrificed their lives for America and america lets them down. I am a veteran and it makes me wonder these things.

Politics Hurt the POOR!

political parties | politics | Puerto Rico

This morining I received a phone call from my mother. She asked me to write a post for all to read.

My father retired two years ago and relocated (with my mom) to Puerto Rico. Many of you may not know, there is a crisis on the island. Right now, the island is bankrupt. The political parties are playing games like children. They refuse to compromise and act like adults, to reach an agreement regarding the island's budget. What has happened thanks to this? Remember a few years back? When Newt Gingrich decided to shut down the government, to show Clinton he could? Same game, different players! Puerto Rico has shut down the schools, they can't pay the teachers. They shut down the banks, there isn't any money. The post office is shutting down. The supermarkets, hospitals and special needs facilities including AUTISTIC CENTERS AND SENIOR CITIZENS HOMES will be next! Only the people that are truly dedicated to their jobs will stay (much like what happened in New Orleans during the levy break)!
