Normally, I don't like talking about Britney Spears. I think she is a mess and needs to be left alone, but this morning I saw on television that she left the hospital against medical advice. As if that isn't bad enough, but the paparazzi was right in her face the second she stepped out the door of the hospital.

Britney Spears in Real Danger
Submitted by LaundryMom on February 7, 2008 - 9:41am. Britney Spears | danger | paparazzi | privacyYou Appear Naked in Net
Submitted by White_Lily on March 31, 2007 - 6:05am. late-night tv | local yokels | naked | privacyI didn't mean it literally. But You are exposed very much while you use the internet a fact not known to many innocent internet users including Kids and novices. It is all the more pronounced while you use search engines since they keep track of all the searches , made by you along with your I.P. address.
If you were under the impression that, this applies only to your mail or discussions forums You are misinformed and it literally applies even to the data searches you make. These policies need to be more transparent and not like the many a statutory warning on products that only a microscope can read.
Fantastic Service for Classified Advertisers
Submitted by IridescentIris on July 18, 2006 - 3:43pm. affordable solutions for advertisers | classified ads | internet | privacyI recently came across a fantastic site when I was placing a classified ad to sell my car. It's called MyAdBox and it allows customers to pay for an "Adbox" which gives them a private email address and toll-free phone number, as well as their own webpage to display the product they are selling.
I was a little hesitant to place an ad online for my car because I did not want people spamming my email address constantly or being able to gather information about me. After a brief search I came across MyAdBox and was impressed to learn that they not only offered exactly what I needed but that it was also extremely affordable. The basic package starts at under $5 and the most expensive is less than $20. My ad has been running for a week now and I've had 7 people email me to my "AdBox" to ask for more details. I highly recommend that anyone who is thinking about placing a classified ad online or in a newspaper check out the link below:
Drug testing your kids- an invasion of their privacy?
Submitted by IntricateGirl on July 5, 2006 - 8:04am. drug testing | Kids | privacy | teensI stumbled onto a site today that offers drug testing kits for parents to use on their kids. You can find the site at http://drugtestingkits.testcountry.com
I can understand the need for this, sadly. But is it a good idea? Drug testing doesn't make up for being a good parent in the first place, and they are less likely to use drugs if they know you are paying attention. But this feels like an invasion of their privacy. Still, if I suspected my kids were using drugs, I might want something like this so that I could see if my suspicions were true.
Pogo Goes To Namibia
Submitted by o ceallaigh on May 28, 2006 - 12:55pm. Angelina Jolie | Namibia | National Enquirer | O Ceallaigh's Observations | photographers | Pogo | privacySo here I am, sitting in a McDonald's in Bath, Maine on Saturday morning, trying to recover from playing swing-era big band jazz on a borrowed (and well battered) trumpet at 6 AM Pacific Daylight Time. (A cruise ship came to town.) I've got an Egg McMuffin in one hand and a copy of the sports section of the Portland Press Herald in the other, looking for something that would tell me if the Royals actually did manage to beat the Yankees last night. I’m flipping through the pages seeking box scores and suddenly discover that I’ve flipped right out of the sports section (which in the Portland Press Herald might be better described as a paragraph) and am reading about … Angelina Jolie in Namibia??
Is the NSA Different Than God?
Submitted by deorre on May 17, 2006 - 7:43am. domestic spying | national security | NSA | privacyAs a fringe dweller, my mind often goes off on a likely errant path. Medication does not seem to help. So, when I hear all the 'ado' over the NSA and national security, and infringement of rights, and the like, I oddly go to the reported pervasiveness of god.
Why aren't people concerned about what their god hears or witnesses. Will not this stuff, and whatever infractions that this entails, get reported or added to the karma list? Does god gossip?
Privacy, Right or Wrong?
Submitted by Nancy J on April 29, 2006 - 10:51pm. privacyI would like some feedback here. The subject is internet security....I am talking about the kind of security or insecurity that might allow the government to have access to our files.....email files, search files, and yes, even our blogging files.
The debate is heating up, and Google seems to have taken a stand...for now. But what happens now, and when.. and how...will it end?
Lets say, for instance, that you type in "Cuban cigars" or "tax shelter" or "getting out of a traffic ticket". Or, what about some of the unsavory comments that we read on here about the government and the President?. There is a government agency somewhere that is interested in these things...to be sure.
Is the Boss Watching?
Submitted by gom jabbar on April 15, 2006 - 9:21am. boss | employee | employer | internet | monitor | privacy | workHow much time do you spend engaged in "personal activities" at work? Does your boss know? He/she might. Common sense tells us that when we go to work, we are expected to work. However, company phone lines and computers with unlimited access to the Internet and those ridiculous games that are included as an integral part of the Windows operating system, it would take a strong person to "work" a full work day without engaging in some liesure activity. I've done some research out of concern for some of my own habits (I'm far from innocent in this regard), and this is what I discovered. While it may not surprise you, it may remind you to be more cautious at work.
I SPY... T.M.I !!!!
Submitted by realitycheck on March 23, 2006 - 8:13am. bad neighbors | bathroom | blinds | disgusting | jerking off | privacy | sexual acts | shades | weird peopleI purchased my home two years ago. The first year everything was fine. All of our neighbors were really cool people. Then it happened, every homeowner’s worst nightmare: The house directly behind me sold to new people.
At first my husband and I thought that maybe the new neighbors were low income because their home was missing some key essentials. But as time passed we began to realize that that was not the case.

5) Be selective about your photos. It may seem obvious, but you’d be surprised how many people display photos that clearly show their house number, license plate number or other personal information. Think twice about doing this. This is especially important for teens!
