We sympathise with our Aussie cousins terrible weather during the last week

I certainly have to sympathise with our Aussie cousins across the ditch with the terrible weather they have experienced during the last week or so. Any loss of life is tragic.

In recent years it has been drought and bushfires that Australia and Aussies have had to endure. We here in New Zealand have been extremely pleased that our fire-fighters were able to help out late last year and early this year.

Sauna is considered to be a holy place.

The modern world sauna owes a lot to the Finnish people. There is historical evidence and records indicate that the Finns built the first wooden saunas in the 5th or 8th century.

In Finland, sauna is a place where women gave birth, and where the bodies of the dead were washed. There were also many beliefs and charms that were connected to sauna. It was, among other things, a place for worshipping the dead.
