Calm Down, or You Might Kill Yourself Blogging!

Three well-known tech bloggers have had heart attacks since December, and a story in the New York Times suggests that the high stress of blogging may be a cause. Many obsessive bloggers complain of weight fluctuation, insomnia and exhaustion. "There is no official diagnosis of death by blogging, and the premature demise of two people obviously does not qualify as an epidemic," said the newspaper. "But friends and family of the deceased ... say those deaths have them thinking about the dangers of their work style."

In America, we have the Dr. Phil Show. He's a TV psychologist who has these people on and he makes people get "real" about themselves; I actually am quite enamored with the show.

When Is Passion An Obsession: A story about a homosexual Asian who wants to romp with Japanese siamese twin sumo wrestlers!

Unlike some insensitive bastards, I don’t crap on people who are already down. Today’s society thrives on buckets of blood and sudden death mixed with the need to ‘keep it real.’ I feel like my message can be conveyed without hurting or insulting anyone. So I must share I’m Too Stressed Over A Man’s story to you all.

Bloggers Anonymous

I don't mean to imply that this an intervention of some sort, BUT...there are alot of you (ok, maybe me too) out there in blog-land who may be slipping away from reality. You may be choosing to engage in a behavior that's obsessive, self-involved, and procrastinatory. Are you neglecting other aspects of your life--you know, important thngs like family, work, sex, food, and whatever else may blow your horn? Do you cling to the belief/hope that this activity is 'good for you', that it may make you money, and that you are now able to write, write, write--and after all, your therapist says it's good to do that.?!
