Ok.
This time I have nothing special to say, but I'm bored so I feel the need to blog. Alright, I got something.
Lions Gate Films.
So stupid.
If any of you are fans of Bret Easton Ellis then you may remember the movies based on his novels, Rules of Attraction and American Psycho. Both movies were made by Lions Gate Films. Ok, so when a writer has his novel made into a movie he sells the rights to his story. This means they can basically hack it up all they want.

Aiden spent the next day or so pulling the last of the unwanted weeds from the yard, it was still hard work, especially those "lions." By the end of the week, there was no trace of of any plants except for the grass which was still quite yellow and had many dirt patches, where weeds had been. He wanted to do something about that. Aiden realized that he would need some grass seed, so he thought of Mr. Green Jeans and made his way to his garage. Peeking inside he could see his neighbor was mixing liquids in different jars. Some of the jars were bubbling over little burners and releasing smoke into tubes that led to glass bottles. Hello? Aiden announced himself.

Once there was a young boy named Aiden who lived in a large city. He liked his city very much, although he wasn't sure why. In the winter, it was very cold and in the summer it was very hot with very little rain, so because of this, the streets in his city were bumpy and cracked, and the grass very dry and was rarely green. It was one of Aiden's chores to water and weed the lawn around his family's house. He didn't enjoy chores very much but he did, for some reason, enjoy taking care of the lawn.

A frigid wind, originating in the high mountains of the north, swept through the tundra of the Life Realm on an unstoppable path to the ice mountains in the furthest reaches of the world. It howled over miles of barren wasteland, picking up strength as it met lesser winds along the way, gathering snow and sleet and hail from the moisture of the south and driving it mercilessly into the towering crags of ice that reached for the sky like frozen fingers. Nowhere did this wind touch a single blade of grass, or the a tree’s canopy. It whistled above the only life, over the chasm of the first clan of Ice Berserkers ever to inhabit that desolate place. They worked tirelessly in their heavy furs, digging through the ice with picks to create tunnels free of sleet and hail, where they might gather with their families and be warm.

Phew, alright! Just got back in from hunting down some Corn Pockets. Let me just set my cereal rifle in the closet here, and I’ll get right to work writing about my day.
...in truth, today hasn’t been that productive. I woke up just when I should have, drove my girlfriend to work just like I should have, and here I am sitting at the computer screen thinking of what to write. I know, at least at the uppermost level of my brain, that I should be writing my novel right now. That I should be working on this epic adventure so that some day, I can publish it and everyone will get a chance to read it. If this is what I’m thinking, then why should everything that’s NOT me working on my novel seem so exciting? I find that I would rather brush my teeth or comb my hair a million times, or clean up my room. Clean up my room! For a college kid, wanting to clean up your room more than wanting to do anything else is ridiculous. Where is this resistance coming from?

I just finished reading a Filipino novel entitled Can I be Your Wife Even just for Awhile?. Since 99% of the blogger here don't understand Filipino, I will translate it into English..

I've been working on a book about dreams for quite some time. I originally formatted it like a diary. But I'm not sure if a novel would be more interesting. I would really appreciate some input.
The feedback I got so far has been great. I just don't want to mess it up. It would be easier for me to write it like a diary as well. But I'm not sure.
The beginning in the hardest part. I have everything else worked out.

I can't recommend strongly enough a book called Smoking In Bed by Bruce Robinson. A friend gave it to me as a gift and nothing has given me as much insight into writing as this book. It's always in my backpack - my backpack is always by my side - and my copy is dog-eared and tattoed with notes, half of the lines, underlined.

This is the first chapter and a half or so of a novel I'm writing. I'm just looking for some constructive critcism. Thanks for your help folks!
CHAPTER 1
Cameron wasn’t feeling well. It was an indescribable feeling, as if his life force were being altered. He didn’t really know exactly what he was feeling; he just knew something wasn’t right. He rose from the ratty mattress he kept on the floor, and crossed the clothes strewn floorboards to his kitchen sink. Steadying himself, he poured a glass of water and drank deeply. His head seemed to clear a little, and he went into his small, lime green bathroom. Looking in the mirror, he saw a sunken, sallow version of his usually tan face.

So you want to write a novel? Have you started it yet?
Is it lost in some desk drawer or old computer file? Is it always "incomplete", yet you do nothing to add to it?
Many writers have a hard time getting started on their "novel", the dream that is always in their heads yet never seems to make it onto paper (or computer, as the case may be). Others have no problem starting, but only get so far before they get stuck. And then it just sits, and waits... and waits... and waits...
