My favorite team is the Dallas Cowboys, but even I have to admit that the game today between the Indianapolis Colts and the New England Patriots is the game of the year, and quite possibly a precursor to the AFC Championship game as well to determine which team will head to the Super Bowl.

The Houston Texans RB is just what America needs to hear and see all the time. Just to know that where he came from at the age of only 9, is a miracle in its self. I am so very amazed at the true passion of the men of the NFL....They are all heros in some form, to so many...
They know of the ways to give back to their community and countries, and just all of it is very, humbling to those of the need....

Like many other football fans, I grew up watching football on Sundays and Mondays. Now the NFL is putting games on Thursdays. One of the reasons the NFL has grown exponentially is that fans know when their teams will play. Sunday has always been a day reserved for football (and church, to a lesser extent). Having a NFL game on Thursdays, unless its Thanksgiving, just doesn’t feel right.

Not only that, they are putting games on NFL Network, a television channel that many people, including me, don’t have. Many fans will miss watching their favorite teams. I don’t think it works out financially for the NFL either since most of its revenues come from advertisement. With no one watching, the NFL won’t be making anything.

The 2007 Super Bowl will match....drumroll please...the Indianapolis Colts and the Dallas Cowboys. This is the year the Colts finally break through and don't choke in the playoffs. The Cowboys are playing the best football in the NFC right now and have the player who is emerging as the best quarterback in the conference in Tony Romo. The Chicago Bears are everyone's favorite to make the Super Bowl out of the NFC, but much of their success has been the result of fluky special teams play and blind luck.

The Chicago Bears will lose at home to the Minnesota Vikings today on the frozen tundra of Soldier Field. The predicted outcome is Minnesota Vikings 24 Chicago Bears 17. The Bears are overrated and will not play in the Super Bowl. The NFC representative will be the Dallas Cowboys.

Maybe I just shouldn't bet on college games. Every weekend something sort of eery happens and causes me to miss out on a boatload of cash. It was about 700 dollars earlier today. I need a strong showing on Sunday. I bet for money not for fun. I have a goal in mind and if I am going to meet it, I can't have slip ups. I have thoroughly broken down all of the games. INDY(-18.5) over tennessee-this is a ton of points anywhere, but especially in the the NFL. I would say it's equivalent to 30 point spread in college. Enough of that. The Colts beat the Titans 35-3 and 31-10 last year. That was with Steve McNair. The Colts may beat Tennessee worse than the Cowboys did last week.

This is the second week in a row that I was not able to give any college picks. It's very difficult because of the research involved when picking college games. By the time Friday rolls around all I want to do is sleep when I get home from work. I passed out around 8:30 on Friday night. Pretty Lame, I know. But, during the week, I wake up around 5-5:30am and don't get home until 5:30-6pm. It's a grueling schedule. Hopefully one day soon it will be worth it.

I apologize for not giving you the college picks earlier today. Due to some incompetence on the part of my banking institution I do not have the funds available to make any bets. As a result I considered not giving pro picks either. But I could not let you all down. I have to admit that there is not very much research going into these picks because there is no money on the line. However I need less research to pick pro games so I am going to go for it. What makes it even tougher is the lines are pretty big. There are a lot of 10 plus point lines especially this early in the season. By the way I am going to try to refrain from making picks on games that invlove the Cowboys since they are my favorite team. I hope everybody had a nice weekend. Here's the deal:

Good Evening. It is the eve of one of my favorite days of the year. Tommorrow marks the first Sunday of the 2006 NFL season. 1 or 2 of you may have been looking out for my college picks today, but due to some exstenuating(?) circumstances I was not able to even place bets myself. You should be thanking me actually. My instincts and my research was, shall we say, sub par. It's still early in the season so this is to be tolerated. Many of the teams that played well last week struggled today and vice versa. Hopefully I'll hit my stride next weekend. I have to be honest, it's not so easy to pick NFL games this early in the season either so proceed with caution. Having said that, I still intend to pick all winners. And I more than doubled my money Friday Night at the Casino playing poker so I'm feeling lucky. Here's the deal:

After the 2004 college football season, USC quarterback and Heisman Trophy winner Matt Leinart could have forgone his senior season and cashed in. He would have been the No. 1 pick in last year’s NFL Draft and selected by the San Francisco 49ers. However, Leinart took the road less traveled and decided to enjoy another year of college life as the ‘Big Man on Campus.’

Due to his decision to stay in school, Leinart’s stock dropped. Many NFL executives had second thoughts before this year’s draft regarding his drive, arm strength and attitude. As a result, Leinart was selected 10th overall by the Arizona Cardinals. The Buffalo Bills passed on Leinart and used their pick at No. 8 to focus on defense, as did the Detroit Lions at No. 9. Buffalo’s combined 400 year old executive board made it public that they didn’t want a ‘Hollywood attitude’ on their team.

Legalize Sports Betting?

The government had debated legalizing prostitution and marijuana for years but they are completely and totally against sports betting, unless you live in Las Vegas, Delaware, Montana or Oregon!
I found it very interesting – did you know that in 1992 Congress banned states from legalizing sports gambling, while allowing it to continue where already legal. BUT the SAME YEAR some states were doing “experimental tests� for the legalization of marijuana.
