About three months ago I was introduced to stem enhance by a retired doctor who practiced homeopathic medicine during his medical career. I heard and I read so many impressive testimonials about the beneficial effects of this supplement that I decided to give it a try. Needless to say it was very expensive and I was only able to get two months worth of the supplement, after splitting the introductory 6 bottles three ways among my sister, my mother and myself. I took it for two months and I was impressed to realize that my far less than 20/20 vision appeared to be improving. I remembered testimonials that claimed improvement for cases of maccular degeneration and I was happy to realize such an improvement. Up to now all was great. However, my limited funds did not allow me to buy more of the stem enhance and I have now been out of it for about a month. Unfortunately I have noticed that my vision is no longer as good as it was when I took the stem enhance. Even worse, it seems to have been reduced even further than what it was before I started taking it. This type of retrogressive effect has me stumped. Should I continue taking the stuff? Am I hooked for the rest of my life?

Scanning difficult-to-read documents will become easier and more affordable for many consumers, thanks to a joint venture between Scanner manufacturer Visioneer Inc. and information-capture specialist Kofax. The two companies have introduced OneTouch with VRS Technology, software that integrates Visioneer's OneTouch scanner-control software with Kofax's VRS (Virtual ReScan) technology, the premier software for improving image quality on hard-to-capture documents.

Previously, users of Visioneer and Xerox DocuMate scanners could either scan with OneTouch or with VRS; OneTouch with VRS Technology integrates these two technologies so that VRS becomes a function in the OneTouch scanning process. This alliance will bring the high-end VRS technology to a range of Visioneer and Xerox DocuMate scanners, including consumer models costing as little as $200. (The lowest-priced scanner that we've reviewed that came with VRS was the $799 HP Scanjet 7800).
