This week Katharine McPhee and Taylor Hicks will duke it out at the Kodak Theater in what's sure to be the most anticipated American Idol finale -- ever.

Randy and Simon have both gone on record to say that they think Taylor Hicks will win - but Katharine McPhee is the leader in some major online polls.

So what can we expect to see on the American Idol finale?

Bye, Bye Bucky...

Bucky Covington became the latest American Idol casualty last night. I liked Bucky... even though I could never understood anything he said. Could you? Even Ryan Seacrest said, "I have no idea what you said, but it sounds good to me." after Bucky gave his response to the "What do you miss most from back home?" question.

So... next week is Rod Stewart week. I'll be honest, I only know... hmmm, maybe 2 Rod Stewart songs -- "Forever Young" and.... that other one. Maybe I never got into his music because of that spiky hair-do. But whatever... we'll see what happens next week.

Mandisa's gone. :(

The thing is that I didn't really see that one coming. Simon Cowell had even gone as far as calling her "the best female vocalist on the show, ever". And now this?

TMZ reports that it may have had more to do with her "anti-gay affiliations". Hmm... anti-gay affiliations? I guess these days, being Christian means you're anti-gay.

Tonight is Country Night on American Idol! Kenny Rogers will be the special guest star.

I have mixed feelings about "Country Night"... it could go really well or incredibly bad. Last week was so boring, I was almost sorry I wasted an hour of my life watching it.

A few of you mentioned that Bucky is one of your favorites, but yet he's been in the Bottom Three at least 2 or 3 times now. Could he be the next to go?

MY FAVORITES

Mandisa...aka Mandiva
She was GREAT! I loved her song choice (Shackles by Mary Mary) and her performance was spectacular. But the judges didn't quite agree... they called it indulgent and Paula (by the way, she was drunk again) could only say something about "a new religion" and the "Church of Mandisa".... Yeah, THAT'S why she chose to perform that song... *sigh* Hollywood.

"I just want to punch him in his bald head!"

That's the sentiment of one American Idol fan regarding Chris Daughtry's failure to credit the band "Live" for the arrangement of the Johnny Cash song "I Walk The Line" he performed last Tuesday.

I have to admit, I was rather impressed with his performance. I wondered all night how Chris Daughtry would pull of performing a 50's song, without losing his rock edge.

*sigh* Kellie Pickler is really starting to get on my nerves. If she didn't try to force the dumb blonde act so much I might like her more...

US Magazine reported that Kellie Picker is dating none other than Constantine Maroulis. Ewww.... I didn't watch last season, so I don't know a lot about him. But the guy looks to me like he needs a shower, shave and a haircut. Plus he's 30 YEARS OLD!

American Idol is tonight... and from what I've heard... it's 50's night. Greeeat, should I expect to see poodle skirts? As long as Chicken Little isn't wearing one, I guess it's ok...

Will he or won't he dye his hair? That seems to be the question these days. I hear there's even a petition going around for him NOT to dye his hair. Personally, I like his hair the way it is. MY Taylor Hicks question is, Does he have Tourrette's or is he really just that jittery? AND.... does anyone else get a little excited when he does his "Whoo!" thing and throws his head to the side? *sigh*

I watch American Idol religiously... along with 35 million other Americans. So of course, I've given some thought as to who the eventual American Idol winner will be. For the most part, I think they're all pretty talented (with the exception of Kevin "Chicken Little" Covais), so it's hard to say who will take the title at the finale.

My personal favorites? Chris Daughty rocks... Katharine McPhee has something incredibly special about her, Kellie Pickler is too sweet for words and Taylor Hicks is a riot to watch....

Let's start with the girls...

Ayla Brown should’ve made it to the Top 12. You know it, I know it, we all know it. Talent-wise she was better than Melissa McGee, who could hardly believe it when Ryan Seacrest told her she’d made it. In fact, Melissa’s face showed the shock she felt and she practically ran to her chair, as if she was afraid she’d be told any second that it was all a big mistake.

His good looks, great singing and intense gaze have made him a favorite to win this season's American Idol competition. But there is more to Ace Young than meets the eye. If there was a contestant who didn't need to American Idol platform to skyrocket to fame, it would be Ace Young. Ace has many accomplishments under his belt that would make any wanna-be superstar green with envy.

Did you know that at the age of nine, Ace not only wrong the song "Reason I Live" for the soundtrack of "The Little Vampire", but also performed it? Now what does a nine-year old know about a reason to live? But that's just the beginning.

Did anybody else watch American Idol? To be honest, I was a little bored by the girls performances on Tuesday. Even my favorites, Katharine McPhee and Paris Bennett, didn't wow me. I thought Ayla Brown and Mandisa were good though.

Then on Wednesday, when it was the boys turn, I found myself bored again. The only performances I truly enjoyed were Elliot Yamin's and Chris Daughtry's. Something about Elliot just makes me like him, and then to top it off, that boy can sing! I don't need to say much about Chris, it's obvious he's a star! I cringed a little when Ace Young attempted Daniel Beddingfield's "If you're not the one" especially when he hit that high note. I thought the song was not his style at all. It was still fun watching him though.
