With their first two albums, 1981's Too Fast For Love and 1983's Shout At The Devil, the Los Angeles glam-metal band Motely Crue had become one of the most popular acts in metal circles. Although Shout At The Devil had sold millions of copies and even spawned several videos that received heavy airplay on MTV, radio play was still practically non-existant.

It's not going to be a movie with the Crue. It's going to be a movie about the Crue with other people playing the parts of the Crue. I've heard that Ashton Kutcher is being looked at for Tommy Lee and Johnny Depp as one other member of the band, no idea who (can't really see him as Vince Neil.
This has to be one of the lamest ideas that I ever heard. Let's wait until the Crue is no more before rolling out a movie. Ray, cool. Walk the Line, Cool. The Buddy Holly Story, cool. La Bamba, Cool. Motley Crue, get outta here. The Crue still has many good years left to do random things, break up and get back together again, and date/marry tons of beautiful women.
