The life of a gambler. I was doing well this week, but I had a couple setbacks on Thursday and Friday. I decided I would put over half of my stack on the Cubs yesterday. They were playing the scorching hot Padres. Winners of 11 out of their last 12. The Cubs were losers of 10 out of their last 11. You might be wondering how I could bet on a team that loses so much. Someone once told me that when you bet on baseball, starting pitching is the most important factor to consider. On the mound for the Cubbies, 40 year old vet and 323 game winner, Greg Maddux. He is what you would call a stopper. When your team absolutely needs a victory, he's the man for the job. I put my faith in Maddux.

Thank you, Mom, for providing those soft and pillowy mounds for me to mush my head into when I was feeling particularly distraught. I know you thought I was hungry, and maybe I was. Yet, it was more the soft fleshiness all around my little head that gave me the comfort.

You see, I didn't know how to think very well back then. I would make mountains out of molehills. A bit of the fece oozing out, and I was off to the races.

Prepare yourself for the coming rants. Soon, as Mothers Day approaches, there will be many who proclaim that this is but another opportunity for big bad business to make as much money as possible. Like Valentines Day, Fathers Day, and such.

Capitalize on the poor innocent and ignorant people who want to demonstrate affection for their mothers. Flowers, cards, chocolates, dildos, or whatever else may say to mom "I love you and I thank you".

I have two three best friends.....one who is too shy all the time and too modest and this person likes their privacy too much.

Then my parents are my best friends. They may not believe this but I have always held them in very high regards and always respected their opinion even though I don't always agree with them.

Mothers day is very special to me just like my birthday is very special to my mother. My birthday is very sacred to my mother and I. The most special day for the both of us to share and she always off course remembers how I looked on my birthday and tells me how cute I was. I have seen cuter babies but I guess that is niether here nor there. She has always also had high ambitions for me only becaue she cares so much for me.

If you live in the UK, Mother's Day (also called Mothering Sunday) was last Sunday. If you live in the US, you've still got a while to wait. I've never been able to figure out why that's different. Does anyone know.

So, if you have had Mother's Day, did you get anything nice. I often get Mothers Day Flowers, but this year my daughter, who's three, picked out my presents herself. I got Baileys Irish Cream chocolates (and yes, they were delicious and alcoholic) as well as a cute DIY chocolate kit which had a mould and some chocolate to melt and pour. We had some fun with that.
