Not all scientists think that genetically modified mosquitoes are such a good idea. Some scientists think there are too many genetic puzzles to be solved for modified mosquitoes to work. For example: the malaria-causing parasite, which mosquitoes then transmit to humans, is simply too good at evading anything scientists might devise to protect the mosquito. Whenever mosquitoes have developed genes resistant to the malaria-causing parasite, the parasite has always found a way around it.

I love winning prizes!
Submitted by allie on April 24, 2007 - 6:38am. auctions | cell phones | deet | mosquitoes | prizes | sponsored post | winningI have always loved winning prizes. In February, my husband and I were lucky enough to win a big screen TV as part of a free gifts raffle his company was doing at work. How amazing that was for us! We don't usually have that kind of luck.
I also love ebay. There is nothing better than winning an auction and getting something for a great price! Well, I can name a few things, but I really do get a thrill out of winning. The only problem is that sometimes the bids get so high that I can't afford to keep bidding.
West Nile is killing people in my town.
Submitted by angelface79 on September 30, 2006 - 3:47pm. mosquitoes | viral infection | west nile virusIt's been confirmed that at least one man has died in my area with west nile virus. Even worse, he lived the next road over from me.
It made front page news here. There have been other confirmed cases of this here as well in the last 2 weeks.
They said to call and get free mosquito spraying. We did that, but they never sprayed here.
The mosquitos are horrible here. And I have 2 kids under 6.

Ofcourse we're all petrified of West Nile Virus
and no one likes getting bitten by those nasty
'lil mosquitos so last weekend, when spending
the weekend at a cottage in the midst of dense
woods, I decided to be extra cautious and wear
a repellant with 30% Deet.
Deet is something the insects apparently hate.
I know Deet can be nasty stuff for it to ward
