By now many of us have heard that Israel conducted a massive round of war "games", basically flexing their military muscle by showing that, at any time, they could launch a strike into Iran and take out the nuclear facility that Iran is trying to convince the world is only for them to have more power.

The Final Jewish Solution
Submitted by danielph23 on August 12, 2006 - 7:49am. Israel | middle east | politics | terrorismTHE picture in the current Middle East crisis is packed with obfuscations. Given that Hezbollah and Israeli propaganda machines are in full throttle (to be matched only by their bloody skirmishes), objective discussions seem out of reach and hawks from both side are lording it over the scenes.Appalingly, a number of seemingly narcotized press people are the primary obfuscators in this conflict.

Breakfast in Jordan,...Shalom, Sala'am, Peace - Lets Do It!
Submitted by Thorniest Rose on June 22, 2006 - 10:47am. Israel | Jordan | King Abdullah | middle east | peaceBreakfast in Jordan, Sala'am, Shalom, Please!
This morning a powerful group had breakfast together and its about time!
King Abdullah, as brilliantly Machiavellian as his dad, the first king of Jordan, decided to step up, speak up, and offer up the beginning of a dialogue for a ceasefire between Israel and Gaza, hopefully leading to peace.
Nobel Laureate Itzchak Perez (former PM and now FM of Israel, despite originating on the other side of the political spectrum, Olmert's cabinet is a very healthy mix of hawks and doves), Israeli PM Ehud Olmert, and Mahmoud Abbas aka Abu Mazen, the largely symbolic and impotent though intelligent and moderate PM of the Pal Authority, all sat down to have a luscious and elegant breakfast with the diminutive Oxford-educated King Abdullah of Jordan.

Stop insulating yourself with dreamy idealistic media like Independent. Take a look everywhere.

Arab Media Reactions to Iran's Nuclear Project
By H. Avraham*
Introduction
Iran's announcement on April 11, 2006 that it had succeeded in enriching uranium evoked mixed reactions in the Arab media. Many columnists expressed apprehension about Iran's nuclear program, and opposition to it. They argued that a nuclear Iran posed a threat to the Arab countries in general and to the Gulf states in particular, and that it was likely to spark an arms race in the region. Other columnists warned that a leak in one of Iran's nuclear facilities could cause grave ecological disaster, on the scale of Chernobyl. Additionally, President Ahmadinejad was described as a new Hitler threatening to unleash catastrophe upon the world.
Who said Iran never attacked the US???!!! Remember the Revolution, remember the poor American hostages ?
Submitted by Thorniest Rose on May 22, 2006 - 6:27pm. Iran | middle east | opinion | usNeed I remind all you Americans that Iran has indeed attacked the US many times?
Most notably and easily validated is the 1978 (yr?) revolution during which the US Embassy was taken over by a mob, and the Americans there were held hostage for more than one year?
Dont do them a disservice by painting poor little Iran as a "third world" country when, in fact, it has developed nukes on its own and when, in fact, it has national wealth and resources rivalling many Western nations as well as thriving industries and economy. Iran is one of those places where a woman risks injury, insult, possibly death, for venturing out into the streets without either a male companion and/or proper attire (no earlobes showing!)
