Sydney has the highest population in Australia. It's estimated population is around 4.28 million. That's a lot of people. It was established in 1788. It is a major international tourist area. It is home to the Sydney Opera House. The opera house covers 4.5 acres. The structure is amazing. The power supply it contains could support a town of 25,000 people. It's stunning to look at.

The Games will run for 12 days, with 72 countries and 4,500 athletes taking part in 16 sports.
Three other Australian capital cities have hosted the Commonwealth Games - Sydney in 1938, Perth in 1962 and Brisbane in 1982.
I have been fortunate to attend some of the events in Perth and Brisbane.
