After all, I’ve never popped, toked, snorted, shot up, freebased, or secondhanded. And I don’t even imbibe much.
Teetotal was not exactly the straight path to social acceptance, for one that was coming of age in the sixties and learning how to go around in academic circles during the seventies. After all, we were the generation that made a religion of sitting cross-legged on the floor, passing a joint and laughing hysterically at the absurdities of Reefer Madness. I wouldn’t be surprised to find that being part of the grass circle had the same positive impact on personal income that social drinking is reported to have.

Like most of these campaigns, it seems that they've failed to consult with anyone that has ever actually smoked marijuana to aid in their production. They have all the believability of a reading of Dr. Martin Luther King's "I Have A Dream" speech on talent night at a white supremist compound.

I am sure you all know what today's date is, but just bear with me for a moment. This day is supposed to be a celebration of weed smokers. I do not know who picked this day, but as long as I can remember 420 has been National Get High (on weed) Day. I alluded to this in my betting blog earlier today, which some of you may or may not have picked up on. Since I have long given up that hobby I needed to find a way to still partake in the festivities. Prior to thinking about this I dropped my cell phone and it snapped in half. At the time, I just paced around and took deep breaths while I looked for something to break on purpose. (Woo-sah...) The pacing and deep breathing was supposed to curb the urge to destroy my own valuables and it did, but coincidentally enough it conjured up the urge to have a drink. Go figure. That is when I decided I would invent a drinking game.

Where was I…Ah yes, so I bet the house on the Cardinals yesterday and they came through for me. I had to if I wanted to make a profit since they were so heavily favored. That bet only paid 1 to 2 on the money laid. I lost my mind the rest of the day. I don’t know what the hell I was doing. Basically, I won some and I lost some and now I am where I started on Monday. I’m having trouble concentrating. Here’s the deal:
Marijuana--Gods' Gift or Satans' Weed?
Submitted by deorre on March 22, 2006 - 5:26am. drugs | Marijuana | pot | thcThe potheads are those imbibers of the thc--the marijuana--who always point out that "at least it's not as bad as alcohol." Sometimes they follow with the witty "you never hear of anybody getting in wrecks driving under the influence of cannabis".
Okay. Don't think that's proof that it's alright to drive when really stoned, but let's not open up that can of worms. My damaged short-term memory probably couldn't track the discussion for too long anyway.
Marijuana - LEGALIZE it?
Submitted by realitycheck on March 1, 2006 - 6:34am. debate | drugs | government | Legalize | legalize marijuana | Marijuana | news | politics | pot | smoker | weedShould Marijuana be Legalized?
The war on drugs is an expensive battle, as a great deal of resources go into catching those who buy or sell illegal drugs on the black market, prosecuting them in court, and housing them in jail. These costs seem particularly exorbitant when dealing with the drug marijuana, as it is widely used, and is likely no more harmful than currently legal drugs such as tobacco and alcohol. There's another cost to the war on drugs, however, which is the revenue lost by governments who cannot collect taxes on illegal drugs. In a recent study for the Fraser Institute Economist Stephen Easton cacculated how much tax revenue the government could make by government could gain by legalizing marijuana.
