Dead man wheeled through the streets of New York - from the mad,the bad, the sad - and the weird. Part 4:

And the plain ridiculous!

Two 65 year old men wheeled the body of a dead man in an office chair through the streets of the Big Apple recently - in a useless attempt to cash his Social Security cheque. The two veterans pushed the body from their Manhattan apartment to the Pay-O-Matic store a block away.

From the mad, the bad, the sad - and the weird Part 2...

More from the mad, the bad, the sad and the weird: Odd deaths and diets.

The second part and finale to last weeks screamers:

Many deaths occurred in 2007 that were, sadly, hardly noticed. To die lonely and hardly missed must be a terrible contemplation.

How to give and recieve criticism

Giving criticism is a lot easier than getting criticism. Criticism is meant to help the aspiring writer and not to make them feel worthless for what they had written.
I once had a teacher who had a rule of thumb to always think of at least three things that you liked about the writers work before you would begin to criticize them. I have found that this truly does work when you are looking over someone else's work. It is easy to find flaws in something but when you are trying to find all of the good in it and not just the bad then you will be amazed at what all the writer is able to teach you.

Weekdays until 14 December, I'll be subbing for Doug Pascover, the Meister of Waking Ambrose, a pastiche of Ambrose Bierce's Devil's Dictionary (just like NMDD), and an excellent hangout for curmudgeons of all ages and states of training.

Recent entries are Legacy, Mad,and Reflection.
Parents: Please SPANK your KIDS!

Parents, Please SPANK your kids.....

Yesterday my 7 month old and I go shopping at a local grocery store. We’re on this one isal and there is this boy, probably about 5 years old, just ripping stuff off shelves and throwing it on the ground. There was cans of soup all over the isle. He’s screaming and throwing a tantrum because he wanted his mother to buy him something and she said no.
