In order to ensure your future online success, you should develop multiple streams of income to diversify your income sources. The reason for this is simple. For example: let’s assume that you have a website dedicated to bee keeping. Over the past year, a large number of bees have been dying and scientists do not know why. Therefore, the price of bees has skyrocketed. Due to the decimation of existing colonies and the high price of replacement bees, many beekeepers will make little or no money this year. As a result, your website could suffer badly. This situation could significantly reduce the income that your site generates. If this site is your only source of income, you could run into serious financial trouble.

For that reason you should diversify your business and develop multiple streams of income. In the situation above, you could establish another website that specializes in unrelated products. Ideally, look for a business that does well when the bee keeping business slows down. This would have the added benefit of increasing your income when the beekeeping website is slow and make your income more consistent.

Diversification makes sense regardless of what business you are in. In the investment world, diversification is king. Most knowledgeable investment advisors spend a great deal of time designing well-diversified portfolios. The objective is simple; when one investment is doing poorly, another will outperform and balance out the investment performance. You should do the same thing with your online business for the same reasons.

If your income is dependant on one area, branch out into other niches to balance your income. If you have a seasonal site that is dedicated to skiing, you probably make most of your money in the fall and winter. Seek out products that are likely to sell well in the spring and summer. A photography website or something involving travel would be an ideal compliment to your skiing site.

Most successful business people maximize their income by developing multiple streams of income. If you are new to the business, look for opportunities to diversify your income and you will ensure your online success.

There are many opportunities for stay at home moms to make money online without spending any of their own money. In parts 1 and 2 of this series, I covered selecting your niche, setting up your site, locating products and placing ads on your site, In this article, I will cover marketing your site to build traffic.

If you have lots of time and you enjoy writing, you can market your site by writing articles. Write short 300 – 500 word articles relating to your niche. Provide some sort of useful information in each article. Include a resource box that contains 2 or 3 links in each article you write. One of the links will direct visitors to your site; the other 2 links will direct people to products that you are recommending.

If you do not have a great deal of time, you can promote your site by using forums. A forum is a place where people who have similar interest can gather and discuss anything they like. Register with at least 4 or 5 forums that are related to your niche. Develop a signature file that includes 2 or 3 links to your site and products that you are recommending. Your signature file will appear each time you enter information in the forum.

Look for postings that deal with your area of expertise (or the information you provide on your site). At first, try to answer questions that others are asking. Each time you answer a question; your signature file will appear along with your posting. Try to enter at least 3 or 4 postings on each forum that you registered with. Using just this technique, I have generated hundreds of visitors per day to a blog. Visit each of your blogs on a daily basis to enter postings.

By making daily postings, you will see an increase in the traffic to your blog. As traffic increases, so will your income. You may begin by making just a few dollars in your first month, but, if you keep at it, your income will increase over time.

There are many opportunities to make money online for stay at home moms. And it does not require you to spend any money up front or commit a great deal of time. If you have young children, you may not have a lot of either one of those items.

In part 1 of this series, I covered how to select a topic (or niche), how to find a free blog, and how to choose a name for your site, and how to add content (articles0. In this article, I will cover how to make money with your blog.

After you have added 3 to 5 related articles to your site, go to Google Adsense and register for an account there. (You can find them by doing a search for Google Adsense.) This is a program that allows you to put advertisements on your site. Each time someone clicks on one of these advertisements, you make some money. This is an easy way to make money each month. You won’t make much in the beginning, but as your site gets more traffic, your Adsense income will slowly increase.

Blogger makes it easy to enter Adsense ads. After Adsense has approved you, copy the advertising code that they provide you onto the clipboard. (Highlight the ad text, right click, and then left click on copy.) Log into your Blogger account and go to set up. Click on the icon for ‘Add Adsense.’ Then paste your code into the pop up box. (Left click in the area where you want to put the Adsense code, then right click, and then left click on ‘paste.’) And you are done; you’ve added an ad onto your site. At the time of this writing, you can put a maximum of 3 Adsense ad blocks on each page of your site.

Now go to ClickBank and search the marketplace for products that are related to your niche. I prefer to use digital products through ClickBank because it is free, and they do all the work. All you have to do is place ads on your site promoting these products. When someone buys something, you make a commission. You do not have to deal with the customer or send out the product. You only have to refer people to their site. Make sure you select 3 or 4 products and place ads for them on each page of your site.

As a stay at home mom, there are many opportunities to make money on the Internet. And no, you don’t need to spend 12 hours a day at the computer to do it. Of course, you may not get rich if you commit just an hour or so per day to your online business, but you can certainly make $20 to $500 per month without spending any of your own money.

The first step is to determine a topic (called niche) that you are interested in. Almost everything that you do online will be related to this niche, so make sure it is a topic that you enjoy. Many stay at home moms choose niches that involve children in some way. There are many opportunities available that cater to this specialized market.

The easiest (and cheapest) way to get started is to register for a free blog. Blogger, owned by Google, is one of the best known, but you can find hundreds of them if you do a search. Select a name that is related to the niche that you chose above. Put some thought into the name of your site. It should be something catchy or memorable that is closely related to what your blog is about.

Now you have to add some information to your blog. If you enjoy writing and have the time, write 3 to 5 informative articles related to your niche. Articles that tell people how to do something or provide some useful information are always very popular. If your site is about infants and toddlers, you can write articles on preventing diaper rash, potty training, finding the perfect baby sitter, etc.

If your children are young, you may not have a great deal of time to write your own information. In that case, go to the article directory where you saw this information and do a search on that site for articles related to your niche. This is perfectly legal. However, when publishing someone else’s article, you must add the author’s resource information along with any links that they include in the article. Add each article into your site as a separate post. You don’t have to do all of these things at once. Spread them out over several days or a week.
