Last week there was a conference of Islamic leaders, and one of the topics discussed was the perceived notion that Islam is being slandered by most countries around the world that don't believe as they do.

Civil Lawsuits Against Gangs
Submitted by Catfish on July 29, 2007 - 7:42pm. gangs | LawsuitsSome time ago I wrote about this new thing concerning lawsuits against judges. Well, now the trend seems to be civil lawsuits against gangs.
Supposedly, the intention is, by suing gang members, people can get judgments against these folks so that they can't associate with each other, can be pulled over by the police and searched for contraband, and violations for even sitting on the porch while another gang member walks by can earn someone a year in jail.
Why Some Lawyers Are Wealthy
Submitted by theclassy1 on September 17, 2006 - 12:29pm. 9/11 | LawsuitsSad story with the potential for a happy ending. A widow of a man who died in the September 11 attacks was represented by an attorney. Contingency fees by attorneys representing families were disfavored. She asked the attorney to represent her before the Victims Compensation Fund. As a result, the attorney sought $2,000,000 as a contingency fee. She sought representation by simmons jannace & stagg. The final outcome was that the case would not be seen before a federal court, but a state court instead.
Be Careful With That Hair Gel
Submitted by Nancy J on May 3, 2006 - 9:56pm. hair gel | INJURIES | LawsuitsThere is a saying, "You learn something new everyday." Well, it happened to me today. My 15-year-old son's friend "cracked" his neck....while applying hair mousse! Has anyone ever heard of this? My first reaction was to laugh out loud....a reaction that was shared by many others.
He was taken to the doctor, whio worked on his neck and put a brace on it. The doctor said that this is a very common experience. What? People are simply rubbing hair goop in on their heads, and their necks are suddenly wrenched out of shape? Amazing!
Mesothelioma - Articles
Submitted by mesothelioma on April 27, 2006 - 10:22am. Cancer | Lawsuits | mesothelioma | treatmentMesothelioma is a disease that is almost 100% preventable; the only known cause is via exposure to the deadly mineral Asbestos. It comes from inhaling the particles of dust as the asbestos degrades; eating away at the lining of your lungs and developing into a deadly cancer. Dust that was inhaled in clouds of white powder, dust that was carried home on the clothes of the men who built this country, dust that was cleaned from the clothes by the wives and children who supported their sole provider at home, dust that was packed around the heating systems in houses and offices and schools, dust that carried a deadly price; and dust made a fortune in blood money for the companies that produced it.
Negligence, Malpractice, and Lawsuits
Submitted by pickles on March 8, 2006 - 5:01pm. Lawsuits | Malpractice | NegligenceWhat is the problem with these people that want to limit the monetary damages one can receive from a lawsuit?
I can understand that there are problems with frivilous lawsuits and the like, but how can you place a monetary limit on someone's life? Furthermore, a lot of settlements that could be considered frivilous are under the limit anyway, so it doesn't stop any lawsuits like spilling hot coffee on your lap and suing the coffee company.
