Identity Theft is becoming a real problem

It's on the rise, and anymore it seems like you really can't trust anyone. All a person needs is your credit card number and security number. And they can go and really screw your life over.
Checks are even worse. If a person has your checkbook, it's an entirely different problem. With a credit card you can report that stolen and have it deactivated. A checkbook can last nearly forever.

Judge rules Britney Spears is skanky. But he uses better phrasing than I did.

Here is an exerpt:
"'It is clear that plaintiff did not bring this lawsuit because she was falsely accused of acting goofy,' Hart Cole wrote. 'The issue is whether it is defamatory to state that a husband and wife taped themselves engaging in consensual sex.'
The judge went on to conclude that Spears has 'put her modern sexuality squarely, and profitably, before the public eye' in a way that would make it unlikely for the magazine article to be found defamatory."

Bratz commercial. I smell a lawsuit.
Submitted by IntricateGirl on August 28, 2006 - 2:32pm. baby | bratz | commercials | dolls | lawsuitI just saw a commercial for some form of Bratz doll. While I know a lot of people hate these dolls, the offensive part about this was the commercial itself.
In the jingle, they were singing, "Doing the Bratz baby shake." Oh boy. Did they think that one through?? Do we really want to encourage baby shaking?? *groan*
I don't think this commercial is long for the airwaves.

Here in the US, we live in a litigious society. Should someone stare at you the wrong way, should you fail to receive a pony for your birthday, should you find a finger in your chili, then filing a lawsuit is imperative (whether the grievance is legitimate or not).
