Egypt is one the oldest countries in the world. A friend of mine told me informally that the country is over 7000 years old. I find it interesting the relationship that Egypt has with Israel. Egypt was always seen as a worldly force to be dealt with. Even though she (Egypt) is not a Superpower like the EU or the fading US and one time USSR she has an interesting role to play with the PA who claims that Israel is on their land. Will Egypt have a stronger role to play in these latter times to rule over Israel as she once did several millenia ago?

Israel, Iran & The Nuclear Threat

Is it healthy to take canned foods when a busy schedule does not allow me to cook a wholesome meal for my family?
Submitted by archerzbaby on April 2, 2007 - 11:45am. culture shock | Food | Food safety | Israel | PalestinianEating a variety of foods everyday is a basic rule for good nutrition. Taking canned foods alone will make it very difficult to obtain a varied and healthy meal. It is necessary to complement the canned food with fresh vegetables (such as green leafy vegetables, tomatoes, carrots, etc.) as well as fresh fruits (particularly those rich in vitamin C such as citrus, mango, strawberry, etc.). Serving variety of canned viands from day to day made from various sources such as fish, beef, poultry, legumes, beans, etc., and with varying tastes and textures, not only makes meals more nutritious but also more appetizing and palatable.
The Anemic UN resolution on Israeli-Hizbullah war

START PAGE: "OK, everybody settle now, children--you've got your fruity-candies.
(1)Hizbullah can now stop spending Iranian-paid Katyusha rockets, call a roll call on its members and conduct inventory of damaged terror, er, corporate infrastructures. OK? (You guys can re-group later and do some recruiting jobs, but puleeeeez, delay it for at least two years or more, OK?)
What is terrorism?
Submitted by danielph23 on August 12, 2006 - 7:51am. Israel | middle east conflict | politics | terrorismJust what is terrorism? And who is a terrorist?
World governments have different answers.
"...the unlawful use of--or threatened use of -- force or violence against individuals or property to coerce or intimidate governments or societies, often to achieve political, religious, or ideological objectives," goes the US translation.
Terrorists-leaning, oil-rich (and even destitute) Arab countries define it as "the slitting of throats of the Infidels and the destruction of the Great Satan America and its whores--in return for 79 virgins in paradise."
The Final Jewish Solution
Submitted by danielph23 on August 12, 2006 - 7:49am. Israel | middle east | politics | terrorismTHE picture in the current Middle East crisis is packed with obfuscations. Given that Hezbollah and Israeli propaganda machines are in full throttle (to be matched only by their bloody skirmishes), objective discussions seem out of reach and hawks from both side are lording it over the scenes.Appalingly, a number of seemingly narcotized press people are the primary obfuscators in this conflict.
Who Does Israel Belong To? THE ANSWER MAY SURPRISE YOU!

Whose Land?
Whose right?
Why not let the Koran decide.
That way, there could be no dispute about the most difficult decision ever made. The Koran could put an end to all of the fighting, terrorism and mayhem associated with the Middle East. The Koran...the Holy book of the Muslims. What does it have to say about the ownership of Israel?

Israel and Lebanon: Babies Dying
Submitted by suejeff on July 18, 2006 - 2:39am. babies | dead | Israel | LebanonIn the current conflict between Israel and Lebanon innocent babies are dying every day. It makes the sane and sensible among us want to leave this planet so beam us up,Scotty.
It doesn't matter whether these babies are Lebanese or Israelis, they are somebody's babies and some mother is wondering why her innocent child has been murdered. America and Britain (judging by Blair and Bush's words that were not meant to be overheard) are not taking this conflict seriously enough. One has to wonder whether their attitudes would change if it was their children who were dying.

Submitted by Thorniest Rose on June 22, 2006 - 10:47am. Israel | Jordan | King Abdullah | middle east | peaceBreakfast in Jordan, Sala'am, Shalom, Please!
This morning a powerful group had breakfast together and its about time!
King Abdullah, as brilliantly Machiavellian as his dad, the first king of Jordan, decided to step up, speak up, and offer up the beginning of a dialogue for a ceasefire between Israel and Gaza, hopefully leading to peace.
Nobel Laureate Itzchak Perez (former PM and now FM of Israel, despite originating on the other side of the political spectrum, Olmert's cabinet is a very healthy mix of hawks and doves), Israeli PM Ehud Olmert, and Mahmoud Abbas aka Abu Mazen, the largely symbolic and impotent though intelligent and moderate PM of the Pal Authority, all sat down to have a luscious and elegant breakfast with the diminutive Oxford-educated King Abdullah of Jordan.

If 80 rockets pre month landed on your town, on your kids' school, your monuments, your businesses, parks, and buildings of worship, what would you do?
That's what the citizens of Sderot in Southern Israel experience and it is so commonplace the media - right wing, left wing, alternative, all of them in the freer world - barely report them, if they do, they refer to the very deadly but inaccurate rockets as "homemade."
