See, I Told You So: Daylight Savings Time Doesn't!
Submitted by LaundryMom on March 7, 2008 - 11:26am. daylight savings time | DST | IndianaWell, I just knew it! Daylight savings time doesn't save anybody anything, and I have been saying that all along, but alas, who am I? I'm just a bored housewife. Anyway, the research is in and it comes from a study done from information gleaned from my home state of Indiana, who for years was ridiculed for not joining the DST bandwagon.
Things are Hopping in my Home State!

Dan Burton | floods | Indiana | IU basketball | Kelvin Sampson | temperatureI have been feeling homesick lately, and I think my home state of Indiana is calling to me. Things are really hopping around there today. This morning on "Good Morning America" I saw my former hometown, Fort Wayne on the news for the flooding and then freezing of the Maumee, Saint Joseph and the Saint Mary's rivers that all meet in that city.
Superbowl and the Sensational ness

The 41st Superbowl in Miami Florida....
Have you ever wondered about the amount of money spent on this day?? I have no statistic to look at and compare, but I would think it is a whole lot more then at Christmas time. Does the money all go to the men of the NFL? Meaning owners and players and just all of them?
I know that a lot of the players themselves have their Charities of choice and do in fact donate a lot of time and money. But I can't help but think of how many people are without the basic necessities. Just of recent, the tornado that ripped threw the center of Florida.. People homeless, no clothes, and no family for those who lost them. I know that the government is the responsibility party for this specifically FEMA, which is headquartered just 15 miles north of me as I sit. The people that have just showed up, no place to park, no food to eat, using their time and energy to lend a helping hand. Of all days, Superbowl Sunday!!! That people, to me is worth so much, it is almost uncomprehindable. Unimaginable, un heard of!!!!
The Drive East. Part 7: Heartland, the Pride of America.
Submitted by o ceallaigh on August 28, 2006 - 5:11am. hospitality | Indiana | O Ceallaigh's Observations | Ohio | Racism | restaurant | The Drive East | travelThe decision to bypass Chicago had been a good one. Instead of the tolls, rough roads, and traffic jams of the hog butcher of the world, the car had clear sailing as it hummed (not roared, at least not yet; the hole in the exhaust system’s midpipe would not open up until the next day) through the centers of Illinois, Indiana, and Ohio.
It was also territory that was known to me. Especially this part of Ohio. For, while the rest of the trip to this point had been mostly place after place that I was “just passing through", I had lived four years in Columbus. It would be good to see some old familiar sights, even if the schedule I was on demanded that I merely wave to them from an 80-mph distance.
John Cougar "Hurts So Good"
Submitted by Pop Go The 80s on May 29, 2006 - 7:05am. 1982 | album | album rock | Grammy | Indiana | John Cougar | John Mellencamp | pop | rock | Top Ten singleIndiana's favorite son, John Cougar's career had been gaining momentum slowly for six years by the time he released the album American Fool in June of 1982. Two years earlier, he had issued his best-selling album to date, Nothin' Matters And What If It Did, which had produced two Top 40 hits including the #17 hit "Ain't Even Done With The Night". It gave no indication, though, of the monster success that awaited Cougar.
