The best way to develop ongoing traffic is through the search engines. Following a little known tactic that I’ve used to attract those search engines.
To get massive traffic, you need to get the attention of the largest search engines. Article marketing is a very effective technique to develop this type of organic traffic. However, there’s one problem with this tactic. If you submit your article to large article submission directories in addition to placing it on your own website, the article will be flagged as duplicate content. In this case, your article will appear in search results only for the sites with the highest Page Rank. This means that the article you place on your own site will not appear in the search results.
However, there is a way around this. To get your website’s article to show up in search engine listings, you must rewrite it before placing it on your site. By changing the wording of your article and changing the title, search engines will see it as an entirely different article and will show it in search result listings.
Although it is not always possible, you can frequently get the articles you place on your website on page one of search engine results. Using these tactics, you can generate massive traffic and turn that traffic into huge profits. In order to do this, you need to use an effective keyword strategy. Use your keyword or key phrase:

At least 4 times in the body of your article

The most difficult thing about an online business is the how to increase traffic. Traffic is the lifeblood of any website or blog. Without traffic, there can be no profit; without profit, there is no business. So in order to be successful, you must increase your traffic.
Of course there are many ways to do this but two simple traffic tactics follow:
Research high volume keywords that are related to your site or blog. The best way to do this is through Google’s free keyword tool. Once you have isolated a good keyword or key phrase, write an article using it in the title. In addition, include the keyword several more times within your article. And finally, use it in the author’s resource box as a text link that points back to your sight.
Submit this article to the article submission directories with the highest Page Rank. Ideally you should look for directories with a Page Rank of 4 or greater. You can easily get this information by downloading the Google toolbar.
The other technique to increase traffic involves the use of forums. Do some research and locate eight to ten forums that are related to your niche and have Page Ranks of four and above. Register with each one and develop a signature file that contains a text link with your keyword that points back to your website or blog. Set it up so that your signature file prints out each time you leave a comment or post.
Then search for posts that are closely related to your niche and enter meaningful comments. Do not just say, ‘Nice post.’ Make sure you include your keyword the title of your comment and try to work it in again in your comment.
In addition, write your own posts and again, include your keyword in the title and body. To really increase traffic, make four or five entries on each of the forums you’ve registered with. Following these tactics will increase traffic substantially to your website or blog.

The power of a web page is called PageRank by Google. Page Rank in a site increases as the number of pages in the site increases. The more pages you have in a site, the higher the total Page Rank of a site becomes. You can distribute the total site page rank in favour of particular pages at the expense of other pages. You can therefore add links from all the other pages to your home page so that your home page will have a higher Page Rank than the other pages in your site. But remember there must always be a link to navigate into every page and a link to get out to either another page in your site or another page in the rest of world wide web; otherwise you may end up with dangling links which are links that point to any page with no outgoing links. Ideally when you create a new page, the total page rank of your site increases but the rest of world wide web loses by a similar amount.

One of the most profitable things you can do (and one of the most difficult things to learn when you first start your Internet business) is using an email campaign to make money. Of course, if you are building a list, you are probably using an autoresponder. If not, you need to get one as soon as possible. A good autoresponder is an essential component to making money using email.
Your list is one of the most valuable assets of your online business. On average, you can expect to earn about one dollar every month for each subscriber that you have on your list. No, you didn’t mis-read that, it said Every Month! If you have a list of 2000 subscribers, you should earn roughly $24,000 per year.
Hearing this information, don’t go out and buy a list of subscribers to try to immediately build up your list. The best list is made up of targeted subscribers. That is, they are interested in products related to your niche. When you buy subscribers, most of them will NOT be targeted to your niche. First of all, take a page out of Google’s book. Their motto is ‘Do no Harm.’ Develop that same attitude regarding your list. Never recommend a so-so product just because it pays a huge commission and you need the money. Take care of your list and the money will take care of itself.
Build a good relationship with your subscribers. Send out emails often asking them how you can help them. And when they reply to your emails asking for help, do everything that you can to assist them. Make sure that you answer their emails promptly. Don’t put it off for two or three days while you do ‘more important stuff.’ Actually, your list is the most important asset you own.
Send them plenty of free ebooks, reports, and information to help them with their business (or interests). I make an effort to make sure subscribers get at least one freebie each week. And always state that you are giving them something free in your subject line. This ensures that they will be anxious to open your emails.
Don’t bombard them with offers or emails on a daily basis. Send them freebies and offers two or three times a week. When emails come every day and almost all of them are sales pitches, people will be more inclined to unsubscribe. You worked hard to get them onto your list, don’t alienate them by making pitches too frequently.

Are you making money with affiliate products? If you aren’t, chances are you are sending prospects directly to the affiliate merchant’s sales page. That is one of the most common reasons why people fail to make affiliate money.
A much better strategy is to devote ALL of your prospecting efforts into building a list. What makes this a better strategy? Look at the following example to see why this is a recipe for failure. Let’s say that you write 30 articles this month and include an affiliate link in each the resource box that directs people to the affiliate sales page.
For the life of the article, your links will direct readers to the merchant’s sales page. If your reader likes the product, but doesn’t buy right now for whatever reason, you have lost that sale forever. Later tonight, when he searches for the product, he will remember the name of the product, but he probably won’t recall your affiliate link or your article. So he will do a search for the product and most likely use the first link that he sees in his search results. Someone else made a nice affiliate commission on the work that you put into that article.
If you had a list, you could promote affiliate products in regular emails to subscribers. In the case above when your prospect can’t buy it right now. He would most likely remember that YOU sent him a link to the product and later, when he’s ready to buy the product, he will most likely re-open the email you sent him and click on the link you provided.
As you can see, it is a significant advantage to have your own list. Using a list, you can control how many times to show a particular product. In addition, if a hot new product becomes available, you can send out an immediate email to alert your subscribers. This is something you can’t do without a list.
