I have had honesty thrust upon me from an early age. I have my plain and simple parents to thank for that. But more than that I have my blushing cheeks to thank. Maybe I was too young when I heard about George Washington chopping down a tree but I believed the story and anytime I was tempted to lie I found my burning cheeks turning cherry red. While I could possibly tell a lie it would be easily and quickly detected and so was pointless. Honesty is the best policy and, if you’re a bad liar or have a bad memory and like neither tangled webs nor weaving, then it definitely is the best idea.

Honesty is the best policy

The employees weren't happy about most of them; as a matter of fact, they were downright hostile. I never expected it, based on how we'd been getting along before then, and I couldn't understand how I'd misread it. I'd even shared it with the person who was directly under me, and she thought it would be a good idea.
This Question of Good Vs. Bad
Submitted by Catfish on April 26, 2007 - 6:18pm. honesty | household tips | morality | TruthI've been reading the posts lately of my friend Babette, and something she keeps writing has stuck in my mind, basically this line she keeps writing about being a "good girl".
It's an interesting topic to talk about, because one wonders just how folks make determinations as to good and bad when the lines might be a bit blurry.
5 Steps to Becoming a Credible Reporter

In fact, complaints after complaints have been written about this. Credibility is defined in the dictionary as "the believability of a statement, action, or source, and the ability of the observer to believe that statement."
Every communicator is expected to have this quality as it has much bearing on his message. If a reporter lacks credibility, it is also most probable that his message may lack credibility in the presentation.
The Great Nap Boycott & My Loss of Sanity
Submitted by ModelMom on July 5, 2006 - 1:13pm. honesty | naptime | parenting | terrible two's | toddlersLet me preface this by saying that I adore my son more than the air I breathe, and that I know that before I can blink my eyes twice he will be off to college & that I should appreciate every moment I have with him while he is still a little guy.
Now that that has been clarified, I am gonna get real. It seems as though my 2 year old has decided to boycott naps unless I take him to Jameson Square which is a plaza downtown that has a fantastic wading pool. On warm days it is full to the brim with toddlers and their parents and probably an alarming amount of urine as well. Well, this being Oregon, the weather is inconsistent and therefore not always warm. If it were, we would be at Jameson Square every single day....believe me. I am starting to hatch up a plan to brainwash my husband into moving us to Palm Springs....I am sure they have a wading pool there too.....and 365 days worth of sun to use it in.
Some Things Are Better Left Unsaid

Like that time, as family lore has it, that I commented on how weird it was that Mrs. Lumpley seemed nothing like the pest my parents said she was. Mrs. Lumpley was flustered, my parents were embarrassed, and I was in trouble. I was later told that Mrs. Lumpley’s feelings were hurt. I learned that telling the truth can hurt people.
