I think King.com is a little bit too addictive. I found a game on there called Magic Spinball that is exactly like (color version) of this really old game on a really old Mac computer I had when I was little. I loved that game and used to play it constantly. It’s quite a pity that I found this game on there too; I’m particularly great at it, but it’s so much fun. You know what they say about simple pleasures? I’m right there; content at spending an hour or two just bouncing a ball into some colorful squares.

The much-anticipated new console from Nintendo, the Wii, is almost available in stores. Nintendo finally announced the release date as November 19th, 2006, at a price of roughly $250 USD. Although this is significantly more expensive than any of their consoles to date, it is much cheaper than the wildly popular X-Box 360. In addition, each of its new games are expected to run at an average of $10 less than a new X-Box 360 game. Nintendo has also promised to release more than twenty-five unique games this year alone. Among the most eagerly-anticipated new games will be the newest installment in the Legend of Zelda series, entitled Twilight Princess.

Story and background

The game portrays a hypothetical war in the near future between three powerful factions: the United States Marines Corps (USMC), China's People's Liberation Army (PLA), and the fictional Middle Eastern Coalition (MEC). The battles, however, only feature USMC versus MEC and USMC versus China; the MEC and China are presumably allied or neutral, as they are never seen attacking each other. There is little background to the war aside from what can be gleaned from map briefings, and certain questions, such as why mutually assured destruction did not prevent the countries from attacking each other and if any of the countries retaliated using weapons of mass destruction, remain unanswered.

Like previous games in the series, Final Fantasy X is presented in third person perspective, with players directly navigating the main character, Tidus, around the world to interact with objects and people. Unlike in previous games, however, the world and town maps have been fully integrated, with terrain outside of cities rendered to scale. When an enemy is encountered, the environment switches to a turn-based "battle area" where characters and enemies must await their turn to attack.

Sony has stated that the PlayStation 3 will have backward compatibility with the PlayStation and PlayStation 2, and that every PS1 and PS2 game that observes its respective system's TRC (Technical Requirements Checklist) will be playable on PS3 at launch.[1]

At the 2006 PlayStation Business Briefing, SCE president Ken Kutaragi asked developers to adhere to the TRC to facilitate compatibility with future PlayStations, stating that the company was having some difficulty getting backward compatibility with games that had not followed the TRCs. "Either it's accidental or on purpose; there's actually a lot of games that don't follow the TRC."[18].

Whether on the original DS or the DS Lite, the Wi-Fi setup is simple, as the system can spot most wireless connections. Console and PC gamers have long been divided into two camps. Certainly, there are those of us who play on multiple platforms, but hard-core PC gamers tend to eschew 'mainstream' console games, while committed console gamers can sometimes be heard bashing PC gamers as elitist nerds. The site has the latest cheats on games such as Amped 3, Call of Duty 3, Bejeweld 2 and Fifa 06.

I really like the sleek design of the site, although more detailed descriptions of the games would be great, as well as up-to date information on the xbox 360 console and accessories.

With magazines becoming easier to start, many titles, especially fiction magazines, face fierce competition, and if advertising and readership is low, it is difficult for a publication to remain in circulation.
