Did you know that your home, your property and your valuables are probably not covered against any type of water damage? Sure, should your home go up in flames, from an earthquake, a terrorist attack, or an alien invasion; you will probably be entitled to compensation from an insurance company, but if you should be so unlucky as to lose your belongings in a flood you will quickly find that you are totally out of luck with your current insurance provider. This is why it is so important to purchase supplemental home owner flood insurance for your property.

Many places are flooded or even facing natural disasters of other kinds.
Flash floods in cities are not a new phenomena.
What can we do to help?
We can donate some daily necessities to the victims. Clothes, food, and even cash. But, none can substitute the disappointment the victims feel when they see the damaged to their properties.
The Rainbow
Submitted by theresabluej on September 7, 2006 - 6:25pm. flood | God | Katrina | peace | promise | RainbowWho doesn’t love a rainbow? That brightly colored symbol of hope and peace was especially welcome to those of us on the coast after Katrina. My sister even took pictures of the post-Katrina rainbow. And as I looked up in the sky, I remembered God’s promise: Never again will a flood be sent to destroy all life on earth.
Armageddon has been foretold, and it promises to be a spectacular fight before good triumphs over evil. And the earth and its inhabitants will face many natural disasters, but there will never be another global flood, although it certainly felt as if God’s wrath was raining down upon Mississippi and Louisiana during that frightful hurricane last year. Never was a rainbow and all that it promises more welcome than it was then.
In a hurricane...here it comes.

Fear | flood | hurricane | Katrina | rain | weatherThe power’s off, the wind is blowing like crazy outside, the rain is beating down on the house from all directions. I live in small down, surrounded by three big rivers, so tropical storms like these tend to make everyone a bit nervous. Especially after the hurricane a few years ago; that year the water came so high that it destroyed five blocks of homes. We don’t live at that end of town, but here the water came right up to the doorstep, and completely flooded the garage.
